Hello Guys! It's been a while since the last time. Hope you all are doing just fine. So, today I came here to tell you how to eat a jack fruit properly. Even though this fruit is not much familiar in western countries it is a famous fruit in Asian countries specially in Sri Lanka. As you all know our main meal is rice and curry. And this jack fruit we consider as our second in line main meal. In sinhala we call rice as 'Bath'. So, we call the jack tree as 'Bath Gasa' (Gasa as in tree) . These trees are normally huge. And the trunk of this tree is a very famous and expensive material for timber works like furniture etc.
Anyway coming back to the topic there were lots of jack trees in my garden. But unfortunately we had to cut some of these due to some practical problems. And now we have only 4 trees in the garden. Here you can see the top part of one tree.

And we can harvest these fruits only for several months in the year. And this the ending of that period. The beauty of this fruit is we can eat them in several stages.
Stage 1 : Baby jack fruit. We call it as 'Polos'. We can use it to make very delicious curry.

Stage 2 : Matured jack fruit. There we call it as 'Kos'. After peeling of the fruit we can cut them into small pieces and cook them to eat it.

Stage 3 : Mellow jack fruit. The is the final stage. At this stage the fruit is yellow in color and we can directly eat it without cooking it.
And this is the one I'm gonna show you how.
First you have to cut the fruit in to several pieces like this.

And the you have to cut the top part like this. So that you can see the top part of the fruit pieces.

Then you can peel the bottom part of the fruit and put it in to a bowl.

Then you can take one 'Madulu' at a time and remove the seed inside it. If you can make sure to put some oil on your hand. Because there are some sticky glue inside the fruit.
Then you can place it like this. Then you can directly eat it. Or you can put some salt and pepper like this to have more tasty fruit.
