Good evening everyone. How was your Monday so far? Now is another day of me cooking some healthy dinner for my partner. Last Saturday, she went to the market to buy some ingredients and some vegetables for our food. Their is a slice of squash that was left on that day and today I decided to do something to it to make it useful. I decided make this squash as our main ingredient and this dish is called "Dinuldog".
Dinuldog is a famous filipino dish which basically translates as "smashed squash with coconut milk". You can see this recipe on every Carenderya in the Philippines.
The recipes that you need for this needs to be this kinds of squash. The ones that are so ripen and is so yellow in color in that way you can just easily smash the squash once cooked.
The steps are just easy. All you need to do is saute a little of garlic and onion and let it brown a little then put in your squash after. You must also put some water into it and add your seasoning like salt and pepper.
Then cover it with a lid and let it cook until it become so tender that you will be able to smash it.
Then you can now add your coconut milk and some string onions to add some flavor and color into it. You can also add some salt depending on your taste.
The taste of the squash and coconut milk is very perfect and compliments well with each other. This dish is perfect on rice and some side dish on it like fried fish or fried dried fish.
That is it everyone. Thank you for reading and let's go and eat dinner :)
