Hello fellow hiveans!
Greetings to my fellow Filipino bloggers out there and fellow Ilocano tribes who loves bagoong sauce, I know you are familiar with Pinakbet.
This recipe today is Pinakbet na Sili— a combination of green pepper (not spicy) and pork seasoned with fish sauce.
Pinakbet or pakbet is a traditional Filipino way of cooking. This is an Ilocano dish having bagoong fish sauce as the main seasoning in cooking. We love pinakbet because bagoong fish sauce has unique flavor and it can go along with many vegetables and dishes.
I used siling ilocos as the main product in this recipe.
Siling Ilocos is used in pakbet or sinigang dishes and this is not a spicy pepper, 100 % not spicy so this is best for pinakbet way of cooking.
To fellow bloggers who do not know I will show you how to cook this dish.
I prepare the products, condiments/ingredients and seasonings needed.
Here are the ingredients we need:
250g Pork Belly
½ Green Chili (Siling Ilocos)
2 Tomato
1 Onions
3 cloves Garlic
½ head ginger
1 ladle Olive oil
2 ladle Bagoong Sauce
Here is the Preparation and Cooking Method:
- Wash pork belly meat thorougly
- Slice meat into your desired cut
- Put the sliced meat in a pan containing 2 glass of water then start the stove in high heat.
- While waiting for boiling meat to be done, you can now chop the tomato, onions, ginger and garlic.
- Remove the head of each chilis and wash twice.
- Slice each chilis so it can absorb the taste of bagoong sauce later during cooking.
--
When meat in pan gets already dry, pour 2 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté garlic until it becomes golden brown and add onions until you smell its aroma, next add the tomato until it becomes soft.
Next, Sauté siling Ilocos and stir together with the condiments.
Pour ½ glass of water and 2 ladles of bagoong fish sauce
Set fire in low heat and wait minutes until the sili becomes tender.
If you are already satisfied with the taste and the sili gets already tender, turn off stove.
Set dish on a plate and serve it on table.
