Banana chips in the Airfryer
Most of the times banana chips are deep fried. I wanted to have a healthier options and I use my Airfryer to make this yummy snack. Some people use a food dehydrator, but I don't have one. Why should I buy that if I have an Airfryer? I know an Airfryer is not cheap, but it's so versatile. A lot of people buy it to make only snacks or fries. I want to share that you can do so much more with this incredible kitchen tool.
But for now, let's go make banana chips!
- Cut the banana in thin slices.
- Put some baking paper in the grill pan. Arrange the slices on top of the baking paper.
- Turn on your Airfryer for 60 minutes on 80 degrees C.
- When done, take out the chips immediately and let them cool down on a rack. Some of them are still a bit soft, but they will harden when cooling down.
The second batch I made with Himalayan salt, cracked black pepper and garlic powder. This was even better! And now it's up to you to use your imagination ... you can add honey, turmeric, chili powder, curry powder, ...
Self made banana chips are healthy compared to the ones you can buy. They provide vitamins, fiber, iron, and potassium. Packaged banana chips which are sold in the supermarkets, are full of added sugar and saturated fat. The mass produced banana chips are baked in oil. By making them yourself without deep frying you can have a guilt-free snack 😃
Thanks for reading my first posting on healthy food ... more to come!
Looks great! I'm gonna try that one!
