[ Recipe ] [ Organic homemade cider vinegar ]

Hello for this post I am going to show you how I make my own homemade apple vinegar. It tastes better, easy to make, it takes about 15 days to make it.

I have friends who have an apple tree at home, the apples are never ready at the right time and often end up being eaten by wild animals or rotting at the base of the tree. Not being a fan of vinegar, I discovered that citrus vinegar was very mild with a delicate apple aroma. Which gives a nice touch to vinaigrettes. I discovered the recipe from other friends who have been making it for a few years.

As I did not filter it, there is still a little left in the bottle. In fact in this photos what I wanted to show you is the difference in color and also taste but you can't see it in winter. I used two different varieties of apple which resulted in two different cider vinegars.

To make two liters of vinegar I needed 6 apples as you can see there was no treatment they are natural directly cut from the tree. The only thing we didn't see was that it was starting to rot inside.

I cut them into 4 then I remove the part with the rotting hearts. But in principle you can keep everything so that it's rotten

Once the black parts are removed I will cut them into small pieces.

I noticed that cutting them into smaller pieces gives more of an apple flavor to the vinegars.

I use two liters of spring water if possible if you do not have it use tap water or filtered water

Leave to ferment in a closed lidded bucket for 15 to 25 days depending on the season, remembering to stir it every day. If your apples are very unsweetened, add a can of powdered sugar at the start of fermentation. This will help the juice to transform into cider and the second step will be the cider to transform into vinegar. In any case, always leave everything in the same bucket.
Remember to wash your apples in ammon before cutting them in order to remove any possible contamination such as from birds or even the most

When the smell of vinegar begins to be a bit strong, bottle it and let it rest for another 15 days before consuming it. I use it a lot with sticky rice to make Maki

I wish you a great week and hope you enjoy this recipe.

I love vinegar so much, that I should save this recipe and use it as a guide to come up with some creations.
Thanks for the inspiration:)

@millycf1976 For years I bought my vinegar even though it was so easy to make it yourself. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment on this article.
