One of the easiest, and fastest food to prepare is the nigerian groceries. It is a life saver and it always come in handy when there is no food to eat in nigerian home.
Most people has allergies as it is seen as a poor man's food but i can assure you, it is very safe if you use the right ingredients. I was up late yeaterday and since it was late, i decided to prepare the groceries.
It is one of the cheapest food you can grab as i wouldn't love to call it a snack. I got the ingredients together.
Ingredients
• Garri ( which is processed cassava)
• Roasted groundnuts
• Sugar
• Milk (optional)
Most people tends to spice up thier groceries with cashew nuts, fruits, buscuits, dates. I love mine plain, with milk or with flavours. My dad prefers with honey or soda.
Roasted groundnuts
Roasted groundnut are appetizing if roasted well. Some people prefer to roast in the oven but i prefer to roast mine in a pot till it turns golden brown. That way, it gives a very savory taste to the groceries. A well roasted groundnut or peanut can go with groceries exempting the sugar.
Method of preparation:
Get your garri in a plate and add water. Add enough water so you can seive the chaff out (the seiving isn't compulsory though)
Add your roasted groundnuts, sugar, milk or any toppings you wish like coconut flakes.
Add more water and enjoy. You can add ice cubes for chilling effect.

I do not know of other countries but in my country, it goes with any food. It can be paired with bean cake (akara) like the Akwa Ibomites, bean pudding (moi-moi) and dried fish.
In the riverine areas, where the fishermen are, it always come in handy as there is no time to cook. So, the fishermen makes the plain type to eat it with thier smoked or dried fish but rather than sugar, salt is used.
As an important meal in my country, it is available in every home and you can ask a neighbor when you run out of it.
