in Foodies Bee Hive4 days ago

Hello nest friends.. I am always excited when I am here. Today I want to invite you. Let's make a cake !! But what I will make is different from cakes in general. Why not, the ingredients that I will use must have not occurred to you to be included in the cake ingredients. So stop by my blog, I will show you the recipe 😁

Making a cake with unusual ingredients is a challenge for me. The good thing is that I have no doubts about this ingredient to mix into the cake, I will try to make it. I wonder if this challenge will be a masterpiece or a mess! Ohh hopefully not. The ingredient I mean is tempeh. As we know that tempeh is usually cooked as a side dish or snack that is served by frying or made into other side dishes such as chili sauce, stir-fried and others. But this time I want to process tempeh but a little uniquely, namely making it into a cake. However, the ingredients that I will use are not only tempeh but there is a combination of other ingredients such as bananas. The addition of bananas here is to give a sweet taste to the cake because tempeh itself tastes bland, so hopefully the ingredients can blend with other ingredients. In addition, the ingredients that are available and often used in making cakes such as eggs, wheat flour and cocoa powder. Rather than being curious, let's just make it. The first thing you have to do is prepare the ingredients.

Ingredients needed and their measurements:

  • 3 tablespoons wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 small pieces of tempeh
  • 4 ripe chicken bananas
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 4 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 40 ml Cooking oil

How to make:

First: cut the tempeh into pieces. Then steam for 10 minutes. Remove and crush the tempeh using a fork. Set aside

Second: peel the bananas and crush them. Set aside

Third: prepare a container. Add granulated sugar, eggs and baking powder. Stir until evenly mixed, you can use a mixer. When it has risen, add the flour, cocoa powder, tempeh, bananas and cooking oil (you can also replace it with margarine). Stir until well mixed.

Fourth: prepare the mold. Grease the mold with cooking oil (margarine) so that it does not stick. Then put the dough into the mold and smooth it out. Do this until the dough runs out. Steam for 30 minutes. When the cake is cooked, remove and let it cool. Remove the cake from the mold and the banana tempeh cake is ready to serve.

For the topping, according to taste, you can add grated chocolate, nuts, cheese, etc., all are included, I mean they are suitable. Even if you eat it directly, it will still be delicious (without topping).

Finished..

Well, that's our unique cake today. The cake experiment using tempeh was successful. It tastes good, the texture of the cake is soft and blends well with the other ingredients without changing the taste of the tempeh. Amazing🤗

This banana tempeh cake can be one of the choices for family gatherings. I like making this cake because my child likes it, even though he likes to be picky when he wants to eat something, which means this cake is delicious😁 If you think you like it, try making it.
