SUNDAY CRAVINGS...

in Foodies Bee Hive3 years ago

Happy Sunday everyone. So today, I made something I've been craving for a while. White Sauce.

It's basically a sauce filled with more vegetables than the pot can handle. The first time I ate it as a child, I despised it. It was so...healthy!🤢

But as I began to mature, I found myself eating those things I hated like carrots, cabbages, onions and even spinach. It's like my tastes shifted.

Because of some do's and don'ts from my nurse, I reached a conclusion for what I wanted to eat today. Mind you, I couldn't make it at my house. We did not have the ingredients nor the space so I went to my cousin's. Happy Easter everyone.

WHITE SAUCE INGREDIENTS & PREPARATION

This sauce can be eaten with rice. I have never tried it with spaghetti or any other thing for that matter. So let's get down to it...

INGREDIENTS:

• Flour

• Corn flour

• Fresh peppers

• Onions

• Black pepper

• Curry

• Thyme

• Meat stock

• Carrots

• Salt

• Vegetable/Olive oil

• Green peas

• Cabbage

• Knorr Cubes

PREPARATION:

• Set the oil in the pot and let it heat.

• Once it's at a moderate heat level, add your chopped onions and pounded/grinded fresh pepper and stir.

• About a minute later, add your carrot, green peas, curry and thyme. Leave to cook for about three minutes.

• Then add your meat stock and leave to boil for another three minutes.

• Take three table spoons of corn flour (measurements vary according to pot or pan size), pour in a plate and add water. Mix until smooth.

• Then add the corn flour into the mix and stir immediately. Stir till it blends with the whole broth.

• Add the Cabbage five minutes later and leave to boil for another three minutes.

• Take a bowl and cut out three scoops of flour.

In my case, I used tins but remember it varies according to size. I was cooking for six people. But you can use table spoons too.

• Add just the right amount of water that'll make it not too thick and not too watery either. It should be a little lighter than a pancake mix.

• Mix the flour and water, stirring it in one direction only.

• Add the mix into the pot when it has been blended properly. No lumps.

• Add salt to taste, black pepper and your knorr seasoning then stir and let it cook for another five minutes.

Food is served...

I'm well aware that we are in different countries which is why I may likely answer any question about what to improvise with should you have none of the ingredients...

I ate this delicious sauce with rice and water. Felt really good... Hehe. I think the Dreemport Challenge has done a huge number on me.

AS long as you try your best, then that is awesome
