SAYUR ASEM

Hello foodies lovers!
How are you? I hope everyone is well!

Last night I went to the traditional market with my friend. It's been a while since I last went to the traditional market. We bought several kinds of vegetables and fruit. Actually shopping at traditional markets is more economical than shopping at super markets. The vegetables are also fresher because they are sent directly from the plantation. And most importantly, it doesn't cost a lot of money to cook this menu. Cooking time is also very easy and does not take much time.I'm sorry for talking too much. I just wanted to share a little story.

Today I will share a typical Indonesian recipe. The name of this dish is Sayur Asem or various vegetables with sour gravy. This menu is one of our daily side dishes, especially those who live in Jakarta. Almost once a week we cook this menu. This is also one of my favorite dishes. The gravy is very refreshing although a bit sour. For the sour taste, use young tamarind fruit or you can add old tamarind fruit.

Have you ever tried to eat this food? Are those of you who have never tried it, curious about the taste? Don't worry, you can make it yourself at home. Alright, let's get started!

THE INGREDIENTS

  • Young jackfruit
  • Young papaya
  • Chayote

  • Peanuts
  • Sweet corn
  • 5 young tamarind
