Eating at "Govana" restaurant, Alicante, Alicante 🇪🇦 - First visit👍

To be honest, I hadn't heard about this family restaurant before but then, having lunch at another different restaurant, a chef from there told me that I would eat one of the best paellas in Alicante at Govana restaurant so, intrigued, I decided to come visit it.

Their specialties are, of course, paellas and rice dishes (since both the current chef José Antonio López and his father are Master Rice Cooks), as well as fresh bay fish and meat from Galicia (northwest Spain).

The premises are from a renovated old traditional restaurant, with some parts of mahogany wood that reminds of fancy restaurants from at least 30 or 40 years ago.

Their attention and service are good as well as their good quality/price ratio.

They currently have a ⭐4.4 rating on Google Maps (based on 458 reviews) and my personal rating was ⭐4.

We started ordering some good homemade Iberian Serrano ham croquettes (€2.80/unit) and they also brought some toast with grated fresh tomato and homemade aioli sauce (€2/ bread service) - Pictures missing.

A non traditional Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes red wine from 2014, full of nuances with berries, toasted bread and minerals touches with volume and full of flavor (€26.90/bottle, at the restaurant) (1).

You can choose about more than 13 different paellas and rice dishes, being our choices the Onion and Fresh Tuna Paella (a classic of the house, very recommendable) and the Vegetables Rice (pictures of the Vegetables Rice are missing).
