The Tamil gift to the Idli-verse, smeared with a ground Molaga Pudi(Gunpowder/chutney) of red chilli, pulses, sesame seeds & bound by Sesame oil. Entry-level spicy, slightly bitter & quite savoury👅 . Shame that it’s cold from being left out for a while.

Rava Idli
Borne out of a prudent usage of available Semolina during WWII, the lack of rice didn’t deter these idlis from coming out textured & delicious. The best parts are definitely getting the mellow crunch of the ghee soaked cashew in between the steamed rava, not to mention the fragrant drizzle of ghee atop it. You need a coconut & mint chutney to get the best combo, but the Sagu works well too.

Thatte Idli
The flatter & fluffier, tapioca infused plate Idli from Bidadi. Thatte Idli is best had extricated steamy hot from the container, with a dollop of butter & some Chutney. This here was pretty stone cold as compared to how we’ve seen it on regular feed. That was a major bummer.

DVG Benne Masala Dosa
Had this before, & while the crepe was richly laced with butter, the potato bhaji wasn’t a white Palya, as is the regular filling.

Tip: Go early in the morn' by 7 am to savour it hot.
