A mi amiga Patricia la conozco hace más de veinte años, estudiamos juntas la carrera de Publicidad, compartimos grandiosos momentos durante ese camino en el que nos volvíamos profesionales. Una de las más grandes sorpresas me las llevé el día que visité la casa de Patricia para hacer una investigación, en una de las paredes de su casa colgaba un cuadro de una chica vestida de enfermera, de la época en la que usaban cofia, de inmediato le pregunté que quién era esa persona y me dijo que era su mamá, yo le comenté que mi mamá también es enfermera, y cuál no sería nuestra sorpresa cuando resultó que su madre y la mía era muy buenas amigas que habían trabajado juntas.
Patricia es una de esas personas que siempre tiene una sonrisa en su rostro, de hecho cuan se ríe a carcajadas es lo más contagiante del mundo, es inevitable no reírse con ella, es una de esas personas que te inspira a vivir la vida de una forma alegre.
Es una de mis amigas a las cuales no veo con frecuencia, suele pasar cuando nos volvemos más adultas y las rutinas cambia, sin embargo, cada vez que nos vemos es como que el tiempo no ha pasado. Un día le escribí por whatsapp respondiendo a uno de los divertidos estados que suele compartir y me comentó que estaba en la ciudad, así que no perdí la oportunidad de ir a compartir con ella.
I have known my friend Patricia for more than twenty years, we studied Advertising together, we shared great moments during that path in which we became professionals. One of the biggest surprises I got the day I visited Patricia's house to do some research, in one of the walls of her house hung a picture of a girl dressed as a nurse, from the time when they used nurse's cap, I immediately asked her who that person was and she told me it was her mom, I told her that my mom is also a nurse, and what would not be our surprise when it turned out that her mother and mine were very good friends who had worked together.
Patricia is one of those people who always has a smile on her face, in fact when she laughs out loud it is the most contagious thing in the world, it is inevitable not to laugh with her, she is one of those people who inspires you to live life joyfully.
She is one of my friends who I don't see often, it usually happens when we become more adults and routines change, however, every time we see each other it's like time has not passed. One day I wrote her by WhatsApp responding to one of the funny statuses she usually shares and she told me she was in town, so I did not miss the opportunity to go and share with her.
Las dos somos bastante foodies, amamos cocinar y disfrutar de la comida, así que no podía llegar a su casa sin algo rico para compartir porque sé que ella iba a tener algunas cosas deliciosas para compartir, ella es una excelente anfitriona. De camino a su departamento en la ciudad pasé por un supermercado y me decidí por llevar pastrami y un queso amarillo ahumado, mis elecciones fueron acertadas.
We are both pretty foodies, and we love to cook and enjoy food, so I couldn't arrive at her place without something delicious to share because I knew she was going to have some wonderful things to share, she is an excellent hostess. On my way to her apartment in the city I passed by a supermarket and decided to take some pastrami and smoked yellow cheese, my choices were right.
Paty, como le digo por cariño, no escatimó en atenciones, ofreciéndome un delicioso té de piña, ceviche, el cual debo confesar, no es mi favorito, pero el de ella estaba totalmente exquisito y galletas recién horneadas. Pasamos una tarde divertida, una de sus hijas toco el cuatro y cantamos, yo aproveché para mostrarle una de mis canciones originales.
Paty, as I affectionately call her, spared no attention, offering me a delicious pineapple tea, and ceviche, which I must confess, is not my favorite, but hers was exquisite and freshly baked cookies. We had a fun afternoon, one of her daughters played the cuatro and we sang, I took the opportunity to show her one of my original songs.
La amistad llena de sabores tiene un valor agregado, pues cada uno de esos sabores va a recordarnos, inmediatamente, ese momento especial vivido entre amigas o amigos. Ese día reímos, cantamos, comimos rico y recordamos tantos momentos vividos de nuestros años de estudiantes universitarias.
Siempre seguiré agradeciendo a la vida por ser tan bondadosa conmigo, por poner en mi camino gente tan especial que siempre me llenan la vida con risas e inclusos con deliciosos sabores.
Friendship full of flavors has an added value because each of those flavors will remind us, immediately, of that special moment lived among friends. That day we laughed, sang, ate delicious food, and remembered so many moments from our years as university students.
I will always be grateful to life for being so kind to me, for putting in my way such special people who always fill my life with laughter and even with delicious flavors.

The world is indeed a small place, good relationships add more value to our life. How would you have believe that Paty's mom and your mom were co-workers if the two of you did not meet. I know it was such a wonderful feeling finding out.
