The restaurant is incredibly cozy and inviting, I adore the Filipino vibes, it's ambiance and how spacious the atmosphere is. The interior depicts Philippines' cultural aspects with a mix of tribal view yet elegant and sophisticated style.
Baryo Pilipinas has been in business for 8 years now. Located in the heart of Den Hague Centraal which only takes 4minutes walk from the train station. Tons of selections from your popular favourites starting from comfort food, soup, sisigs, silog, noodles, exotic choices, Salo-salo Fiesta which is their signature specialty, vegetarian dishes, snacks, drinks, desserts and more. A Dutch-Filipino family owns and operates this restaurant in the Netherlands. Majority of the servers are Filipinos. The owner is a native who speaks Visayan Language. In fact, I felt honoured to communicate with the owner of the restaurant. In addition, it is one of the top destination for Filipinos and foreign nationals and by far one of the best Filipino Restaurant in the Netherlands.
Baryo Pilipinas is close to the Philippines Embassy, so why not stop by and grab their specialty or any dish you prefer?
I've been here a few times already and I definitely enjoy staying here. Of course, it is always awesome to see and meet new and familiar faces. I usually come here around 2 o'clock in the afternoon to chill, because it isn't that crowded in the afternoon.
It can accomodate 60 people according to the owner. There are also some tables outside if you like to smoke, as well as a spot to sit if you want to take advantage of the Netherland's beautiful weather.
Food
I ordered Pork Sisig. One of the most popular Pinoy's favourites. Rice is also included in each menu that you ordered. I must say that the portion is large which can be shared for 2 persons. The flavour of their sisig feels like home. Include Sisig in your list as a must try Filipino Food!!
Drinks
Fresh fruit smoothie and juices is always on top for me, simply because they are definitely healthy and mouth-watering!! They have few fresh ones you can choose: oranges, mango and watermelon.
I ordered mango drinks. Everyone can't deny that fresh fruit is always refreshing!
Furthermore, they also serve sodas, coffee, alcoholic drinks such as cocktails wine and beer.
Dessert
I ordered their special Halo-Halo which is a renowned Filipino cold dessert consist of a mixture of sweet ingredients together with some fruits and icecream.
My overall experience has been fantastic!!!! The service is excellent, staff are friendly and the place is pleasant. Definitely a place where you can enjoy eating scrumptious Filipino cuisine while dining in with your international friends, family and loved ones.
Highly recommended and would keep coming back all over again!
Opening Hours:
The restaurant is open from 12 noon until 9pm on weekdays and weekends except Tuesday. In addition, they also provide takeaway and delivery services.
Tips!!
Book a reservation in advanced if you prefer to come in the Weekend. The place is always jump-packed.
