High Protein Tortillas Recipe, Flour Tortillas, Trailer, Fire, Grilling, Finding Funding- Friday

Yesterday I had to spend time making more tortillas as we only had a couple left since we all are plowing through them rather quickly. This gave me the chance to build up a new recipe for a high protein tortilla while I watched the Man Utd match.

The Recipe.

2 cups Quinoa flour
1/2 cup pea protein powder
3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp salt
1 Tbl baking powder
1/4 cup veggie oil
1 Tbl coconut cream powder
2 1/4 cups hot water

Mix all together then section dough and press once in tortilla press. Set aside and when finished first press of last tortilla heat stove to high heat and roll each tortilla out thin starting with the first pressed. Cook on stove until brown spots on each side.

The quinoa flour has 32 grams of protein, pea protein powder has 42 grams, and the flour has 54 grams for a total of 128 grams of protein divided by the 12 tortillas means each has over 10 grams of protein.

I am rather pleased with these as they don't have a grainy feel to them, they don't taste like legume, and they rolled out fairly thin.

The dozen came out pretty consistent in size and all got stacked in the tupperware for storage.

After picking the boys up from school I got the next batch of tortillas going. I decided to go with all wheat flour for these using mostly the original recipe. These I used:
6 cups of whole wheat flour
2 tsp salt
1 Tbl baking powder
1 Tbl coconut cream powder
1/4 cup oil
2 cups hot water

I mixed it all then sectioned into 16 and began to press them.

These HAD to have a rest between pressing and rolling to let the dough relax. I pressed all 16 on the press then laid them on the mat. Once I finished the first press of the last one I took the first one in line and used the hand roller to get them nice and thin before tossing on the stove to cook.

They cooked up fairly fast given how thin I got them.

They all got put to a tupperware container for storage. The house smelled wonderful the rest of the afternoon.

I was supposed to go get grain this morning so I hooked up the trailer and got the barrels loaded up. Upon waking this morning I saw the text that they aren't going to be out till this afternoon so I am leaving my truck as is and will go to town tomorrow morning first thing.

Fluff butts were strutting and singing as I parked the truck and trailer. They are so hard to get a shot of mid gobble.

I got a fire going in the pit before dark and kept it built until I got our burgers on to grill. I used regular burger buns this time as we have a couple packs that we need to eat. I am not sure but my skin might be hating me because of it, the eczema on my feet got worse overnight.

During the day I was able to find a number of training videos for paragliding and have found a few textbooks that I can now start reading through. I know that if I can get through all the training material I can find before ever going for lessons it will put me way ahead and likely to require less time to get certified. The biggest part of all this is securing the funds to make this happen. If only I could figure out how to convert HBD to USD cash, I would have it settled...

(If anyone has $2000 cash they would trade me for 2000 HBD I would be SOOOOOOOO grateful!)

Today I have to baby my skin and my mouth to try and alleviate the pain, there is sports ball games on all day, I will grill again tonight, and the rest of the day is open as of now.
