Last night, I wasn’t feeling well due to food poisoning earlier in the day. My energy was low, and I wanted to feel better without resorting to medication. Thankfully, there are food stalls that offer healthy dishes with beneficial effects on the body. One of these options is the Chinese-style herbal soup, which combines meat, vegetables, and traditional herbs, making it a healthier choice.
I have to admit, I don’t eat this regularly because the flavors are often bland, and I don’t always prioritize healthy options. However, whenever I’m feeling under the weather, I tend to choose this type of food because it always helps me feel better.
It may not be the most visually appealing dish, but it’s definitely a great one to enjoy.
I ordered the pork ribs with lotus roots. The meat is so tender, as you’ll see in the photos I’ll share—it’s soft enough that even the cartilage on the bones is edible. This is something I always order from stalls like this because it has a good balance of meat and vegetables. Plus, it offers a variety of nutrients from the ingredients.
One of the interesting ingredients in this dish is the addition of peanuts. They’re boiled together in the soup, giving them a savory flavor. I think the taste of the meat infuses into the peanuts, making them even more flavorful. I really like the peanuts in this dish because they have a soft, mushy texture that complements the other ingredients perfectly.
Another noteworthy part of this meal is the pumpkin rice, which I rarely have. It’s not bad; I’m just so used to plain white rice that it’s become a habit for me. There’s no doubt, though, that the pumpkin rice tastes sweeter and creamier.
Overall, this meal was a comforting and nutritious choice, especially when I needed something light and wholesome. It's always nice to explore different flavors and ingredients that offer both satisfaction and health benefits.
Its actually amazing that they serve that kind of food in there. This is also good for those who wants lighter foods such as this.
Anyways, get well soonest!
This is one of the comfort meal I always like to have whenever the weather is bad or I just want something light and easy to eat. The owners seemed to be very generous in their portion and I see loads of meat too! Thanks for sharing!
Such a jack having stalls that serves healthy meals , it's good when you are sick and can't cook or when you need some special herbs for helping stomach or headache or a bad cold.
