Discovering Delicious Gems at Maxwell Food Center: A Lunchtime Adventure

The Singapore food scene is full of exciting and unique food finds. In the hawkers center alone, there will be at least 5 cuisines from different countries that are showcasing the best that they can offer. During lunchtime, I went to the Maxwell Food Center to try a different meal than my usual Cai Fan.

The Maxwell Food Center is one of the most famous in the city. The stall owners value their food so much that they take pride in serving you the best version of their dish. After all, the food center is strategically located across to the heart of Chinatown which is the Tooth Relic Buddha Temple. This spot is famous for tourists which helps draw in customers into the food centre. It's also surrounded by office buildings which keeps the food center busy during the weekdays.

The tourists and office workers are the ones who make this food center alive. I reached the place around 1:00 PM and immediately I was astounded by the customers in the place. There are no tables available but I consider myself lucky when a group of customers have finished their meal and empty the table for me to eat.

I ordered from the stall called Bold X Braised. It's such a cool name for a stall that sells pork rice dishes. I got the set meal which cost S$7.

The perfectly sliced cucumber reminds me of the movie Ratatouille. It's awesome that the experience of eating a cucumber was leveled up by simply using a good technique of cutting or preparing it.

I got the set version of the meal which means aside from the pork belly, I got two types of tofu, egg, and cucumber.
