Giant Fried Sausage Roll Recipe.

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog.

I am a big fan of fried food and really enjoyed it, but some time ago, I was warned about my excessive consumption of groundnut oil. I had to cut down on my fried food and, most importantly, learn how to make so many snacks myself. At least that would guarantee that I used a decent oil for frying.

So today, I shared with you guys one of my favorite fried recipes, and it's actually a yummy snack or food; whichever you call it is fine.

Judging by the sizes, I will love to call this giant fried sausage roll recipe. It is a delicious and yummy snack to munch on any time of day. It might look stressful to people, but it's worth it because if this is prepared well, you can't regret taking time to prepare this fried sausage roll recipe.

Ingredients.

  • 500g of flour

  • 6 pcs of sausage

  • 100g of Sugar

  • 2pcs of plantain

  • 2 eggs

  • 10g of chili powder

  • 3pcs of carrot

  • 1 small onion ball

  • 12g of powdered milk

  • 400ml of groundnut oil

  • 1 teaspoon of butter

  • ½ teaspoon of baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg

  • ⅓ teaspoon of salt.

Procedure.

I started by making my dough.

  • I added about 400g of my flour into a bowl.

  • I added 12g powdered milk, 100g of sugar and pinch of salt.
  • I mixed the flour together.

  • I added ½ teaspoon baking powder and ¼ of nutmeg before mixing again.

  • I added a small quantity of water and started mixing the flour.

  • I added one of the eggs and 1 teaspoon of butter.
  • I continued mixing until my dough started forming and I stepped up to kneading.
  • I kept adding flour bit by bit to make the dough firm and I continued this process until I had a smooth dough.

I moved on the making my sausage filling.

  • I cleaned my carrot and onions before processing them.
  • I chopped them into smaller bits and put them aside.
  • I repeated the process for the plantain and sausage as well.

  • With these ingredients processed, I heated a small quantity of groundnut oil in my pan.

  • I turned the sausage and plantain into the oil.
  • I stirred and fried for about 2 minutes under low heat before adding the carrots and onions.
  • I added ¼ teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of chili powder.
  • I continued stirring and frying for another five minutes, and my sausage filling is ready.

  • I took my board and rolling pin to hit the next step.
  • I sprinkled some flour on the board to prevent the board from sticking before cutting a small quantity of dough and placing it on the board.
  • I flattened the dough on the board and gently put some filling at the edge of the flattened dough.
  • I rolled the dough up and applied mixed egg with a brush on the closing edge so the sausage roll doesn't open when frying.
  • I placed the sausage roll aside and repeated the process until I exhausted the remaining dough.

  • I moved on to the final part, which is frying.
  • I heated some groundnut oil in my pan and gently placed my sausage roll in the hot oil.

  • I fried them on low heat to prevent the sausage roll from burning.

  • I turned the sides of the sausage to ensure that all the sides are properly fried.

Immediately the sausage roll was ready; I took them out of the hot oil, and my snack is ready.

The fluffy texture of this recipe is one I enjoy very well, and the filling just took things to a whole different level. You can enjoy this recipe as a snack or food because after having one with a chilled drink, I was full to the brim.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe; share your thoughts about it in the comment section.

Ohhh, that looks good. And it is home cooked which is surely has a lot of love and care while preparing it. Although it's kinda has a long process but as I see it, it's worth it no? Can I have one of that please 🤤🤤

Yeah, the process is kind of lengthy for just one meal so it's best to do when you have people around. You can all work together plus the snacks won't go to waste.

Glad you like it...
