Un cordial saludo. Mi cuñada me regaló unas mazorcas frescas y quise preparar unas sabrosas cachapas para la cena.

Lo primero que hice fue pelar y desgranar los jojotos (mazorcas),

The first thing I did was peel and shell the jojotos (cobs),

Se desgranan con ayuda de un cuchillo, parando la mazorca y pasando el cuchillo con una pequeña presión, de arriba hacia abajo.

They are shelled with the help of a knife, stopping the cob and passing the knife with a small pressure, from top to bottom.

Luego con ayuda de una taza, agregué los granos de maíz poco a poco a una licuadora.

Then with the help of a cup, I added the corn kernels little by little to a blender.

Simultaneamente que se agregan los granos del maíz intercalando con agua, voy probando la mezcla para ver si le tengo que agregar una pizca de sal o de azúcar.

At the same time that the grains of corn interspersed with water are added, I test the mixture to see if I have to add a pinch of salt or sugar.

Nos ayudamos con una paleta, cuando esté muy espesa la mezcla, apagamos la licuadora y revolvemos un poco.

Coloqué todo ya licuado en un envase a parte.

Calenté un budare para cocinarlas ahí pero si no tienen uno pueden hacerlo en el mismo objeto que usan para hacer las panquecas.

Se vierte una cucharada grande de la mezcla en el budare, luego se extiende a fuego medio.

A large spoonful of the mixture is poured into the budare, then spread over medium heat.

Mientras se está cocinando, se revuelve un poco la mezcla cruda, debe ser de una consistencia muy espesa entonces a veces el agua sube mucho a la superficie, hay que tratar de mantenerlo uniforme.

While it is cooking, stir the raw mixture a little, it should be of a very thick consistency, so sometimes the water rises a lot to the surface, you have to try to keep it uniform.

Cuando los bordes están un poco cocidos, da indicios de que ya es momento de voltear.

When the borders are a little cooked, it indicates that it is time to turn.

Cuando tiene esa apariencia marrón y casi oscuro por ambos lados es cuando ya está lista para servir, podemos comer con el queso de nuestra preferencia. En mi caso les puse queso llanero.

Se doblan por la mitad o se colocan unas sobre otras y están listas para comer.

Las cachapas son un plato tradicional de la región central de Venezuela, se preparan con maíz tierno molido, algunos le agregan leche a la mezcla y el azúcar la reemplazan por papelón... Yo hoy les quise motrar una forma sencilla e gualmente sabrosa de hacerlo, con el agua y azúcar granulada... Un dato importante es que al preparar la mezcla para hacer cachapas, éstas se deben cocinar de inmediato porque sino se fermenta, si queiren guardar cachapas para el siguiente día lo que yo recomiendo es que las cocinen todas y luego al siguiente día las calientan nuevamente. Pueden acompañar con lo que deseen.

Cachapas are a traditional dish from the central region of Venezuela, they are prepared with ground sweet corn, some add milk to the mix and replace the sugar with paper... Today I wanted to show you a simple and equally tasty to do it, with water and granulated sugar... An important fact is that when preparing the mixture to make cachapas, they must be cooked immediately because otherwise they will ferment, if you want to save cachapas for the next day, what I recommend is that they cook them all and then the next day they heat them up again.
