Homemade Latte (sort of) Without Any Fancy Equipment

As I mentioned in my latest post, it is cold here in Oklahoma. My driveway is literally frozen, and I'm really just looking for any way to warm up.

And so I present to you my at-home version of a latte that you can make with things you probably already have at home!

Start by brewing a cup of your strongest coffee. I know it's not espresso, but it will work. The weaker the coffee, the more you're going to want to use. I tend to fill about 3/4 of my cup.

Pour your coffee over a couple tablespoons of syrup. This step is optional, but I wanted to use the vanilla flavor I already had on hand.

Now for the fun part. You're going to need to froth some milk. I have a milk frother (pictured above) that I picked up at a grocery store for a couple bucks. Heat up the milk in the microwave for 45-ish seconds, and froth it until it's slightly foamy.

If you don't have one of these handy tools, you can improvise with with something like a french press or blender. I've also tried hand shaking the milk in a sealable container, just make sure you don't do it for too long because the hot milk releases a lot of pressure in the container.

Just pour the milk over the coffee/syrup mixture, and top it with cinnamon and honey if you want! My milk was a little too foamy, but it still hit the spot. I just hope none of you are actual baristas judging the lack of quality in my methods haha.
