It is already 2 weeks plus past Father's Day. Before this the children were not too well so the celebration was postponed.
So my mum-in-law suggested to eat at a place called Golden Valley in our nearby mall, Melawati Mall. Apparently there were some promotion set going on and they serve Peking Duck which is the reason why she suggested this place.
It is my first time coming to this place and I just somehow never realize its existence though I frequently come to this mall.
The entrance and decoration looks quite grand in some ways, having some vases. But yeah I do get a bit scared around things made of glass or ceramic as they can shatter and I have a son who is learning to push his boundaries now hahaha.
Anyway, we were given option to choose a chicken, vegetable, egg or tofu, and soup. There is free flow of rice and some complimentary drinks which we chose barley drinks.
They were also having some good deals for bento lunch as advertised on their bunting banner outside.
Food came!!
So here we have some steamed fish with soy sauce.
Nyonya fish and prawns, if I remember correctly. This was yummy.
Stir-fried mixed vegetables.
Fu Yong fried egg.
Seafood and Sweet Corn Soup.
And the main highlight for tonight's dinner..... Peking Duck!
Peking Duck is a tedious dish to prepare as ther server needs to slowly patiently sliced a thin layer of the skin for us to wrap in a flour made wrap. Usually we see a more whitish wrap with other restaurants but here they serve in maybe pandan coloured wrap. Very special.
It is best served with a variety of sauces to choose from, two of which I know is plum sauce and hoisin sauce.
There was desserts too but the youngest son could not stay still any longer so I had to keep going out to chase him hence did not manage to take photo of it.
The interior of the place also looks pleasant and clean.
Overall, it was a good time for family to gather. Happy Father's Day to 3 fathers in our midst!
