Hello there, food lovers! I hope you're all doing well and staying safe.
Today is Eid ul Fitr. Muslims around the world celebrate Eid after fasting 30 days. When you live away from your family, it can be difficult, but luckily I have some Bangladeshi friends who also live in Serbia. As a result, we decided to cook some traditional foods and celebrate this day as a family. Each of us prepared a unique dish, and my task was to prepare beef curry.
Why beef curry is my favorite traditional food?
Beef curry is one of Bangladesh's most popular traditional dishes. Beef is not that expensive in Bangladesh, and my mother used to make beef every Friday because Friday is a national holiday in our country, and only on this day of the week was everyone in our family at home. I think my mom cooks the best beef curry in this world. It's so soothing, spicy-sweet-savory, and it just makes me feel better and puts me in good mood that's why this is my favorite dish.
Ingredients
- 1 kg beef with bones cut into pieces
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 chopped onion
- 6 cloves minced garlic
- 2 finely sliced green chile peppers,
- 30 gm minced ginger
- 3 whole cardamom seeds
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 -2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 potatoes
- 1 tomato
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a pan fry the beef with turmeric and cumin powder for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook and stir in the onion, garlic, and ginger until the onion has softened and turned translucent.
- Toss the onion mixture with cumin, turmeric, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, tomatoes and water. Cook until the mixture has thickened and most of the water has evaporated.
- Stir in the beef chuck pieces with tomatoes until they are evenly coated with the spice mixture; cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until the beef is cooked through and tender.
- Add 2 potatoes and cook further 15 minutes until the potatoes are well cooked.
- Serve this incredibly delicious and flavorful beef curry with steamed rice.

I want you to support you, but your kitchen tools and your type of post really the same as @apon318 and @rifkan
Hi, all three of us from Bangladesh living in Serbia. We were celebrating EID(religious festival) at my place. That s why you noticed @rifkan and @hasan706 were using my kitchen tool.
We are friend and sometimes we cook together. The las cooking post I posted it was from Eid celebration day. We cook together and we thought lets put in hive community but I think you cannot find any other recipe post in my profile where the chicken tools are same .
Thank you for your comment :))
Hello @hasan706 Your dish looks delicious. I love foods cooked with curry powder. Thanks for the step-by-step instructions and ingredients. I see that tomatoes are in one of the photos, but I didn't see them on the list of ingredients or stirred into the mixture with the meat.
Thanks for sharing your recipe and instructions.
Thank you so much for your comment! I guess I forget to took the photos of tomato with the beef. I stirred them with beef and cooked them 1.5 hours. Now I added them both in ingredients and process section.
Seeing this I am salivating already. My love for meat is out of this world lol.
Thank you for your comment. It was so yummy :))
