Hello, food lovers and community all friends greetings. Today my post for @foodiesbeehive host @sirenahippie.Who announced the contest a green dessert This time. Actually, I am not a fan of artificial colors so I make my own natural colors using fruits, vegetables, or spices. I regularly make different green savory dishes, but making a green dessert is a new challenge. So I tried it, based on making different halwa in our festivals. but all different ingredients and utensils which I don't have here. I used my creativity to make it with available ingredients and my ideas to make DIY colors. To reduce the spinach effect I used aromatic spices. There is very common to make this kind of thing in India. I come to this recipe just for fun and enjoyment.
How to make color your self please read my post @diyhub.
Ingredients:
30 spinach leaves cut out the stems.
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp pumpkin seeds
1/2 tsp cashew
1/2 tsp pistachio
4 cardamoms
1/4 tsp ginger powder
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup sugar.
Took off stems from spinach and washed in salt water.
Adding 1/4 cup water cooked them for 1 minute
Saving water put cooked leaves in the mixer.
Chopped nuts
Grind cardamoms.
Made slurry
mixed ginger powder and cardamom powder in cornstarch.
Gradually using 2-3 tbsp water-made slurry. kept aside.
I used leftover and saved spinach water to make syrup.
Mixed sugar in the spinach water.
and started cooking on medium heat.
Added 4 tsp spinach paste to the syrup.
Cooked until getting thicker consistency. Lowered the heat.
Added cornstarch slurry to the syrup stirring constantly.
Added chopped nuts.
Stirred continuously to avoid getting lumps.
when the mixture started to loosen from the side of the pan turned off the heat.
Oiled glass mold and sprinkled some chopped nuts in it.
Poured mixture into the glass mold while it was still warm.
Cooled down for 1/2 hour.
Remold it.
cut into squares and my green halawa is ready to serve
Thank you.

I think you achieved the green color perfectly in this dessert.
The walnuts added a lot of crunchiness and the cardamom enhances the flavor of this original dessert.
Definitely, it is a challenge well done!
Congratulations, @hindavi
