Today I am going to introduce a Sri Lankan food recipe. It’s called Sri Lankan fish Bun. Yesterday I made it for the first time. So, I wasn’t sure it would be right. Anyway, I thought I’d give it a try. Made it the first time, but it came out right so I thought I would share with you how to make it.
** Frist of all I activated the yeast.**
Yeast – 1 teaspoon
Sugar – 1 teaspoon
A splash of hot water
Put all these three types together and mix well then keep covered for ten minutes……
Then I made the fish bun batter. This is the hard part but if done right, this is very easy. All you need to do to make the batter properly is mix the flour well.
INGREDIANS
Floor – 250g
Salt – teaspoon
Sugar – one and half tablespoon
Fresh milk – 50 ml
Hot water
Activated yeast mixture
One egg
So, all the types mentioned above should be mixed well. After we mix it for a while, the flour come together well and become like a mixture. Then add two tablespoons f melted butter and mx well. one thing that needs to taken care of is that you should know after adding the butter and mixing it without using it with the previous ingredients.
Then I kneaded it well for about 20 minutes. I mixed it those 20 minutes while watching the video so that I don’t feel tired. Try it that way too. After that, close it well and leave it for about an hour. After being closed like that, it blooms well. then make it into medium size balls and keep it covered for half an hour.
Now we need to make the fish bun filing.
Canned fish, carrot, leeks, onions, green chilies, garlic , Rampa leaves, curry leaves , tomatoes, boiled potatoes
These should be cut into small pieces as required. Chop three boiled potatoes and crush a piece of canned fish. Now we can add spices and cook it well. in a heated pan, add oil, chopped ingredients, chili powder, salt, pepper, turmeric powder and mix well. Then add mashed potatoes and canned fish.
Now take the batter that was kept earlier and spread it and add the filing to it and fold it on three sides. Place each bun on the well-oiled oven tray and brush egg over the buns.
Finally! we can bake for 12-15 mins in 425F preheated oven until there are golden on top. Let them cool down for at least 20 mins and we can eat it. The best thing is to take it together and share it.

Hello, this bread looks very good. I have never tried homemade fish bread. I like to know recipes from other countries, and when I can't travel to them, sometimes cook something different at home so I can try other flavors from other places in the world.
