Hello dear hive friends,
Good evening to all my Hive friends! How are you? Today, I would like to share with you a recipe for a delicious dessert. "Watalappam" is a traditional Sri Lankan pudding, known for its rich and creamy texture and unique blend of flavors. Made from coconut milk, jaggery (or brown sugar), and eggs, "Watalappam" is a cultural delicacy that satisfies the sweet food. Additionally, "Watalappam" pudding offers a balance of nutrients, providing protein, vitamins, and minerals such as potassium and magnesium. Moreover, it can be prepared with minimal ingredients, making it a cost-effective dessert option. Let's now see how to prepare this.
Required Ingredients....
❄️ finely grated jaggery 80g.
❄️ Two or three eggs.
❄️ 1 1/2 cups coconut milk.
❄️ A little salt.
❄️ A teaspoon of margarine.
❄️ A little cashew.
Method of making.....
First take a pot and place it on the stove. After the pot is slightly heated, add the grated jaggery and mix it till it caramelizes. Once it caramelizes, remove from heat and let cool.
Then take the egg and beat it well.
Then strain the beet eggs back into a bowl with the help of a strainer.
Then coconut milk is added to the jaggery caramel. It should be mixed well.
Then add the mixture of milk and jaggery to the beaten egg solution using a strainer.
And finally put this mixture in a pot and steam it using a cooker. Before pouring the mixture into a bowl, spread margarine all over the bowl. Then add the mixture and steam it for about 40 minutes.
Then put it in the refrigerator for about 10 hours and add it to the food.
So in this way the Vatalappam Pudding is ready. Also, to prepare for more people, use the ingredients here according to your choice. The quantities I used are enough for about 3 people. Watalappam Pudding is not only a delicious dessert but also a nutritious treat that celebrates Sri Lanka's rich culinary heritage. Try Watalappam Pudding too. Then why not treat yourself and your loved ones to the great flavors of Watalappam Pudding? Then I will meet with another new dish.
Thank you reading
Have A nice day.
