Good Morning to all my Hive friends!
Last night, I noticed some shrimp left in the fridge and decided to prepare a delightful Shrimp Lentil Vada recipe. I customized the ingredients to suit the preferences of my family. This recipe is not only flavorful but also perfect as a quick snack during break time. Lentils are an excellent source of plant-based protein, fiber, and essential vitamins. Meanwhile, shrimp adds important nutrients like protein and fatty acids. To make this dish even more nutritious, I incorporated Gram Flour, enhancing its strength and nutritional value.
Let's dive into how this delicious and wholesome Shrimp Lentil Vada is made!
Method of making....
🍀 1 Cup of lentils.
🍀 10 Small shrimp.
🍀 3 tablespoon of Gram Flour.
🍀 Finely chopped curry leaves.
🍀 Finely chopped kochi pods
🍀 Some finely chopped carrots.
🍀 1 finely chopped onions.
🍀 Coconut oil for frying.
🍀1/3 teaspoon of pepper powder.
🍀2 2 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili powder.
🍀 Salt as needed.
Method of making....
First, soak the lentils for about 15 minutes to soften them. Then, use a blender to grind the soaked lentils into a coarse paste. Once done, transfer the mixture to a separate bowl and set it aside.
Next, add the chickpea flour to the blended lentil mixture and mix thoroughly until well combined.
Next, add the chopped onions, curry leaves, chopped green chilies, chili powder, pepper powder, and salt to the mixture. Mix everything thoroughly to ensure the spices and ingredients are evenly distributed.
Next, take small portions of the mixture and flatten them slightly as shown below. Place a small shrimp in the center of each portion, shape them into small patties, and set them aside separately.
Next, take a pan and add enough oil to it. Place the pan on the stove and heat the oil. Once the oil is hot, fry the prepared patties until they turn a golden brown.
These delicious lentil shrimp vade are ready to serve. For a different flavor, you can use red lentils instead of regular ones. To boost the nutritional value, consider adding grated carrots or finely chopped greens like spinach. They’re incredibly tasty! Give this recipe a try and enjoy the unique blend of flavors.
