A time to learn
Life in a local African village is very interesting and if you have a taste of this heart warming African delicacy, you will want to learn how to make it yourself.
First slice your atama leaf and dry it under the sun. Then keep turning it till its fully dry then you can use your hands to break it into more fragments or you pound it with mortar. Rinse it with water and filter it just once and keep aside.
Furthermore, wash and pound your palm fruit and then use hot water to wash and squeeze out the liquid using a filter.
Cut your periwinkle wash and add salt to it and keep aside.
Pound your pepper and crayfish slice your onion, wash and steam your kpomo, prepare your dry fish and keep your salt closer to you.
A time to cook;
Pour in the filtered palm fruit liquid (ie: banga) into a pot and add your dry fish and kpomo salt pepper and place it on fire to cook. Once the soup is boiling you add your periwinkle and cover it to steam...after 5mins add your Uyayai...its a natural spice and allow it to steam and bring out the natural flavour then add your crayfish after 5mins. After a while add your your atama leaf, turn it and taste it then bring it down.
Sorry I don't use seasoning cubes much to prepare my meals but if you feel like adding go ahead. You can add two cube to it.
Now its time to eat!
After the delicious meal take a relaxing nap in the stream😂
It's an amazing experience you should try it someday🤣
