Bakwan jagung Manado Style , Indonesian people's favorite side dish

Hi friends, first let me introduce myself, my name is Indah Ayu, I come from Indonesia, I want to greet all my friends because this is my first time writing in this community.
I will share the recipe for "bakwan jagung manado"

What is "bakwan jagung manado"?**

In Indonesia, bakwan is a food that contains a mixture of flour, water and eggs, like pancakes. This bakwan dough can be mixed with several types of vegetables such as carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, spring onions but what I make is bakwan jagung (sweet corn pancake) where there is only a mixture of flour, eggs and sweet corn and also added seasoning such as pepper, salt and chicken powder.

The word Manado it's the name of a city on the island of North Sulawesi, precisely in central Indonesia.
In the city of Manado there are many very famous regional foods such as chicken woku, Manado porridge, cakalang fufu fish and many more.

This time I will share the recipe for bakwan jagung Manado this is my favorite dish and in Indonesia there are many kinds of ways to prepare bakwan jagung Some people add water, some don't. The consistency of the dough can be different for each person, depending on their individual taste but bakwan jagung manado is very famous for its savory and crunchy taste which makes many people like it.

Immediately, the materials that will be used are as follows

1 large sweet corn
4 cloves garlic (you have to puree it or u can use 1 tbsp garlic powder)
2 stalks of celery or green onions (according to taste) can be both
1 egg
4 tablespoons flour salt,
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp pepper (you can use pepper powder)
1 tsp Chicken powder (optional)
1 gr baking soda (to get a crunchy texture)
cooking oil

How To make it very simple and easily

  1. first time prepare the sweet corn shells you can choose young corn so that the sweet taste that is created is better when mixed with other ingredients

  1. mix them with all the other ingredients.

  1. Then, once mixed evenly, it is ready to be fried in oil that has been heated over medium heat until golden brown.

Noted : To shape it, use a tablespoon, scoop the mixture with a spoon then pour it into the pan. This is a dough consistency that is not runny because to make this bakwan jagung Manado style we don't add water, however we don't worry because when fried the dough will come together and become crispy (this is the difference between bakwan jagung Manado and other)

Bakwan jagung is ready to be served while warm and is best enjoyed with chili sauce or peanut sauce.

Bakwan jagung is usually used as a side dish for meals, even though it is quite a heavy food, Indonesians really like it and serve bakwan jagung as a side dish.

That's a glimpse of bakwan jagung Manado and how to make it.
I hope my friends like it and are interested in trying it.
