Hi, Foodies Beehive! Let me bring you back to 2013 when I enjoyed my lunch in Cebu with my mother and sister.

Hukad-Golden Cowrie Restaurant

Golden Cowrie is a Filipino Restaurant originally in Cebu. Everytime we crave Filipino food this is a go-to restaurant in the Visayas and Mindanao. They also offer unlimited rice. This is a good place to celebrate different occasions with your loved ones. We went to SM City Cebu to enjoy our lunch.

What we ordered?

Pork Sinigang

A photo of soy sauce and vinegar plus a little bottle of toothpicks. Hehe.

Every time we go out for lunch in a Filipino restaurant, pork sinigang is always a must-order. Pork sinigang is consists of tamarind, tomatoes, radish, gabi, sitaw, eggplant, okra, bokchoy, fish sauce, and of course, pork.

And the soup is good for three people.

Tuna Fingers, we always order this every time we take our lunch at Golden Cowrie.

Grilled Bangus with Papaya salad, of course, we never fail to order this as long as it is available.

And look at this table. We finished the grilled bangus and the soup. But we still had our Tuna fingers which we enjoyed eating at the last moment.

We also ordered fresh buko juice as our refreshment.

Damn, I want to go back to the Philippines and enjoy Filipino food. Whew!

Golden Cowrie is located at Salinas Drive in Lahug, Cebu City. They also have different branches at Ayala Center, SM City Cebu, SM Seaside, etc.

TGI Fridays

TGI Fridays is more on a Western food concept. I seldom eat here maybe because I find it expensive or my taste is just into Filipino food. We went to Ayala Center Cebu after two days just to have lunch.

Choosing our order

2013-04-09 17.03.13.jpg

My sister ordered a mango shake but the mango in her glass tasted sour, thus, the reaction. Hahaha!

We had different sauces: vinegar, chicken barbecue sauce, and soy sauce.

2013-04-09 17.13.09.jpg

We ordered this platter, glazed chicken, and grilled pork. And another plate with our three cups of rice. I forgot how much I paid for this.

2013-04-09 17.04.08.jpg

I ordered buko milkshake and it was delicious.

And here's the menu.

If I have to choose between the two, I prefer eating at Hukad-Golden Cowrie Restaurant, especially with their unlimited rice. Rice is life.

Filipino food for the win!
