Hello Everyone!!
After so long I'm posting again in this community as I'm a #foodie like you and love to share the recipes and dishes I prepare. Being an Indian, I love food which is full of Indian spices as it adds flavor to the food.
In today's blog I'll share a recipe to prepare Pani Puri or Golgape or you can also called waterballs along with it's pani. Pani Puri reminds me of my school days, me along with my friend use to complete, whoever eats more Pani Puri wins the challenge and the another one has to pay for the Pani Puri.
I could have outside to eat it but until when, so I decided to make it myself and I succeeded. Well I'm proud of myself for this. And in this blog I'll teach you how to make it at your home.
Pani Puri is among the most loved street food in India mostly girls loves it just like me. It's like a ball full of flavoured water that blast in your mouth and satisfies your craving. Usually there are different pani or flavoured water but I only prepared one as it was my first time.
Ingredients :
100 gram Pani Puri papad
1 Lemon
1 Onion
2 Green Chilly
50 gram Green Coriander
Half Spoon Dry Corridor
Half Spoon Red Chilly Power
1 Spoon Mango Power
1 Spoon Pani Puri masala
1 Spoon Black Salt
Pinch of Normal Salt
200 gramPotatoes
3 Tamarind
Half Spoon Sugar
Some Mustard oil
Procedure :
Start by washing and cutting potatoes into two and put them in a pressure cooker and let them cook for 20 minutes atleast. This is the only time consuming step. Also don't forget to add little salt to it.
Now take some tamarind and put some water to it. Heat the mixture for 5 minutes and add black salt as well as sugar to it. I love tamarind as its tangy in taste and is a perfect balance if sweet and sourness. In India is is used in variety of dishes and drinks making it flavourful and tasty.
Now it's time to make the pani or flavoured water of the Pani Puri. For that we will start by adding tea spoon of some black salt, pani puri masala, dry mango powder, coriander powder, normal salt, lemon juice and some chopped onions along with half littler water . We need to let it sit for 10 minutes atleast so that the we get the perfect flavors.
We will fry some Pani Puri papad in the mustard oil. The oil should be at perfect temperature, neither too hot nor too cold. A perfect heat is required for the papad to fry properly. Notice the oil carefully, as it start to produce little smoke, it's perfect for the papad to fry.
This is how the Pani Puri papad turned out and they are crispy and light. These balls looks amazing, right?
And now will will make the potatoes paste that will go inside the pani puri. For the we need to chop some onions, green chilly.
As you can see that our potatoes are cooked properly, so nw we will remove the outer cover of it and crash it.
Put the potatoes in a bowl and add some salt, chopped onions along with chillies. Also add green cucumber and red chilly, now mis it well.
This is how it will look after mixing it all together. So colorful and flavourful too. It's soo yummy and you can eat it with papad too.
Theses are some of the papad that didn't turned into ball, but you can eat it will the potatoe paste.
And here I'm prodly showing you how it looks. Sometimes I crave too much for street food but it's not possible everythime to go outside and sometimes it's not hygienic, you never know. If you guys haven't eaten this before then I should definitely show you how it's eaten.
This is how the pani turned out, so colorful and you can also see the lemon, onions and green coriander in it. All together they provide a great flavors and Im lacking worlds to describe it. Its spicy, sour, tangy and little sweet. With every bite you take the flavors will brush inside your mouth.
How To Eat
Take the crispy Pani Puri balls and make a hole on it in one side. Now fill the ball with the poato paste. Now dip the ball in zesty water and eat it. It feels like ball full of flavors brusting in your mouth and its taste too good.
Preparing it isn't different but adding all the spices in balance is all it's about. It took me half an hour to prepare it and if you have make potato paste already then it will hardly take 10-15 minutes. That's all for today's blog and I hope you enjoyed it.
Thank for your time.
See you soon!
