When life blesses you with mangoes, make mango float

My dad recently bought 6 kilos of sweet mangoes in the downtown market for a discounted price. Is it mango season already? If my memory serves me right, mango season is still on March and April. This tropical fruit is a favorite in our household and quite common in the Philippines. There are manufacturers who sells dried mangoes that serve as a souvenir for foreigners.

As the mangoes slowly began to ripe, one by one, we can't eat them all in time before they turn over ripe. So I decided to make some mango float to preserve the mangoes in the fridge.

These are the ingredients I used in my mango float:

  • ripe mangoes
  • all purpose cream
  • Graham biscuits
  • condensed milk

All measurements are estimated in equal proportions.

Direction:

  • thoroughly mix the all purpose cream and 2 spoonful of condensed milk. (Add a generous amount of condensed milk for a sweeter mango float)
  • thinly slice the mangoes
  • create a layer of Graham, all purpose cream, and mangoes.
  • refrigerate the mango float for 24 hrs or until soften.

While making the mango float, my sister played some Christmas song playlist to entertain us even though it's not Christmas season anymore.

It took us about 1 hr to finish making the dessert since we are making a huge batch. I hope the mango float will turn out just right. Now on to the fridge, you go!

It's been months since I crave for mango floats and finally, I'm making one! This will probably be my breakfast and dessert tomorrow.

We still have some mangoes left in the fruit bowl. I'm planning to add them when I make overnight oats with yogurt and chia seeds. Or maybe have them frozen.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane

That looks so delicious. Mangoes are my favorite. But we need another few months to get it here.
