Samgyeopsal is one of my favorite dishes. I can eat as much korean food as I want. Enjoys the culture that Koreans have shared to Filipinos. I like how the letus is eaten with Kimchi and pork in between. (Oh my gosh I'm drolling while writting this. Lol)
But Samgyeopsal wouldn't be complete without someone to eat with, right? Ofcourse this will add to the fun of catching up and cooking at the same time while gossiping. Yes, in Samgyeopsal style of eating, you are responsible of cooking your meat. Grilled it on the griller and wait til it gets cook.
Few days ago, my pretty friend, ex-workmate and schoolmate in college Christine, finally found the chance to meet me after a very long time of being apart. We totally missed each other because 1 day with her didn't feel enough. When I arrived at our meeting place, she immediately recognized me and ran towards me, crushing me with a hug so tight that I couldn't breathe. Didn't she seem to miss me all that much? Nah, she's just like me, hyper and happy all the time. I then suggested for us to eat lunch at; Barangay Seoul
I'm sure several of us here who use to wander Cebu City to look for food are already familiar or heard of this Korean restaurant. I've actually came to eat here a few times, bringing my other friends and boyfriend along to try Korean cuisine.
I'm actually not surprised of the long line when we arrived. The restaurant is in full swing. Even if it was past lunchtime, customers keeps on coming.
We probably waited about 30 minutes, so if you don't want to wait that long, come early, late in the afternoon, or after dinner.
They are open from 11AM to 10PM with no breaks or cut-off time unlike before. This is located at 6000 Cebu, Cebu City, 945 Juana Osmeña Street. (beside Hey, Joe and near the new Robinsons Super Market) As of January 6, 2022 they have updated the cost of their unlimited Samgyeopsal to 349 pesos or $3.49 per head with 200 pesos penalty for left overs.
I badly like to ask the specific names of these dishes but I don't think I still have the time to inquire because their staffs were so busy serving foods and helping out customers.
The room is really not hot, but it radiates a distinctly korean vibe, thanks to the k-pop music playing in the background. Despite the large number of customers, the restaurant does not appear crowded, which I like. They also provide outside tables for customers who wish to eat outside, as well as a room for those who want little privacy.
I selected and picked almost all the dishes available from the counter. I also asked for a ramen noodles to be cooked by their staff.
Christine and I had a wonderful time chatting about everything during our time together. I also introduced her to Hive, which she liked. Hopefully, she will be able to join us soon.
Barangay Seoul is by far my favorite Korean restaurant. Their dish was amazing and very well worth paying. I'd like to try some of the korean restaurants in Cebu, but for now, this is my favorite.

They have such a wide variety of dishes compared to what's sikat here in Central Luzon, mas mura pa po sa kanila T^T Never had the chance to try Tteokbokki yet, how's it po? Super sulit!
I very like Tteokbokki coz spicy and chewy sya. Its really delicious just like how it appears sa mga kdramas. Haha mas maganda talaga if maraming choices pra worth it ang bayad.
When ta mag sangyup?? 😋
