Hi Hive friends, food lovers! I hope you are well and enjoying some small pleasures.
If someone asked me what I like to eat the most, my answer would be pastries. Yes, different types of pastries. So you can expect various pastries from me here. They are my pleasure, passion, love, especially when they are still warm. They can't just be food, because they are much more than food. Pastries are art and constantly require you to use your imagination, and imagination has no limits.
I invite you to roll with me today. Let's roll sweet and salty rolls, for dinner or breakfast, whenever you want. Two pleasures at once. It was always difficult for me to decide whether to make salty or sweet rolls. That's why I make both types at the same time, from the same dough. It is very practical, your effort will be less and your satisfaction will be doubled.
For preparing the dough, you will need 10 grams of instant yeast or 20 grams of fresh yeast. I had dry but you can also use fresh if you want.
One full teaspoon of salt.
One not too much full tablespoon of sugar.
125 ml of warm milk and 125 ml of water.
100 ml of sunflower oil.
Now add wheat flour slowly.
It must be added slowly until you make a good dough. And then start to mix the mixture with a spoon.
Then you have to get your hands dirty until you knead a good soft dough. You have to use your hands at the end because it is the best way to control the consistency.
Divide dough into 2 pieces/balls.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin. It should look like a circle about 5 mm thick.
Now divide the circle with a knife, first into 4 parts, and then each part into another half, to get 8 parts.
We will make salty ones first. Put cheese or any salty filling you like on each piece (cheese/spinach, pizza stuffing, egg/onion, etc.) Anything you like. I like cheese the most.
And now let's roll...
Make sweet rolls the same way. It's hard for me to decide whether to put Nutella or jam, so I put both and the taste is fantastic. I recommend you try it. Of course, you can put any sweet filling you like (vanilla cream, chocolate cream, jam, marmalade, honey and butter, etc.)
And let's roll again.
Place rolls on the baking paper in the baking pan.
Leave them covered to rest and rise for 20 minutes. Be patient. 🙂
Coat them with whipped egg yolk.
And put sesame or some other seeds over salty rolls, if you like.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees and bake rolls for 30 minutes. And then enjoy!
I would like to convey to you the softness and taste of these rolls because their appearance is not enough to give the right impression. I never tried to make the rolls look perfect and be the same size, so their appearance is not too attractive. But the taste is more important, so I suggest you trust my one-year-old baby who adores them. 🙂
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
