Hello everyone, I hope you are doing great. When a friend recommended a pudding pie recipe to me a few days ago, I knew I would love it. And I knew that I would make it very soon because I am a big fan of creamy desserts. According to the original recipe, this is a vanilla pie, but my pie was chocolate because I'm a big chocolate lover. The choices are endless.
Preparing this pie does not take much time and, as always, the simplicity of the recipe is very important to me, because I make desserts in the evening, after a hard day's work, when my children fall asleep. You can make it very quickly, without much effort, so let's get started. 😊
To prepare the pie, you need the ingredients on the table in the photo below.
Frozen or fresh cherries (300g). I had frozen ones.
A glass (200ml) of yogurt, a glass of sunflower oil, a glass of wheat semolina, a glass of sugar, 10g of baking powder, and one liter of milk.
Pie crusts (you can make them yourself if you want, but I bought ready-made this time) and three eggs.
80g of butter.
Three bags of pudding powder. Two were vanilla and one had to be chocolate even though according to the recipe all three should be vanilla. 😊
First, put 800 ml of milk to boil with 8 spoons of sugar. The amount of sugar depends on your taste. According to the original recipe, 13 tablespoons should be added, but 8 was enough for me.
Mix the pudding powder in the remaining 200 ml of milk.
When the milk boils, pour the pudding mixture.
And mix until you get a thick cream.
Leave the pudding cream to cool, while you prepare the mixture for coating the pie crust. Beat 3 eggs until foamy.
Add a glass of yogurt, semolina, sugar and oil.
Whisk the mixture and add the baking powder and mix with a spoon.
When the pudding has cooled, add 80g of butter.
And whip the cream.
Now you have everything you need to complete this sweet job. Pudding cream, mixture for coating crusts, pie crusts and cherries.
So let's finish it.
Take one crust at a time and coat it with the coating mixture and sprinkle with cherries.
On the fourth or third crust (depending on how many there are in total), add the pudding on one side and spread a little more mixture on the other side.
Roll up and place on baking paper in a baking pan.
Make four rolls in the same way.
Coat the rolls with the remaining coating mixture.
And put the pie to bake at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes until it is golden brown on top.
Your home will start to smell like chocolate, cherries and vanilla. You will love this aroma. 😊
The pie is best eaten when it has cooled if you have the patience to wait. I immediately ate one piece because I was not patient. 😊
You don't have to refrigerate the pie for tomorrow, unless you want it to be very cold.
Crispy crust and creamy taste is a perfect combination. We ate it very quickly and I'm sure I'll be making it again soon because it's delicious.
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
