Hi friends!
Two days ago, I had my self-introduction as my first post here in Hive, so this is just my second. There I had mentioned that most of my blogs would be about travels and foods since they two are my comforts. And here with you now in Foodies Bee Hive, I am sharing my first cooking tutorial blog, and this is on my family's all-time favorite Squid dish, Calamares.
Let's get it on!
Jenesa cooks . . .
CALAMARES
Calamares is a squid dish that's commonly served as an appetizer. It is made out of batter-coated or breaded and deep-fried squid rings. It's just really simple and quick to prepare.
INGREDIENTS
PROCESS
1. Cut the Squid into rings.
2. In a bowl, marinate the rings in soy sauce combined with Calamansi extract, ground pepper and a pinch of salt for atleast an hour or preferably overnight.
* However, it's not necessary to have your rings marinated since these will be coated with seasoned crumbs or batter. But if you prefer to have them more flavorful like I do, then go ahead.
3. Coat the rings in flour, dip in egg and dredge in breadcrumbs.
4. In medium-heat, deep-fried the Squid rings in oil until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes.
*Calamares is best served with Thousand Island dressing or other Mayonnaise-based dressings. With mine, I just mixed equal amount of Catsup and Mayonnaise.

That's it! How do you find it? Well, I hope it helps you in a way or another. See you in the next one!
'Til then,
