June is said to be the "undisturbed vacation for teachers". Staying at home can be boring and tiring sometimes. Either doing the laundry or cooking all day. You know me, I love to explore food and dishes, so when my son requested that make him a chocolatey snack, I thought of brownies, where I don't need to use the oven. Just a pan.
So, allow me to take you to our humble kitchen and together cook brownies.
We need:
- Butter 100g
- Milo powder ( 2 sachets)
- Milk powder (3 tablespoons)
- Sugar 1 cup
- Peanut (preferably one cup)
- 2 eggs, and
- Flour (2 cups)
Prepare a pan. Preheat the pan to a low fire and once heated, put 100g of butter. Let it melt.
Put one cup of brown sugar then mix it with the melted butter.
After a few moments of stirring, it would be like this, it's caramelized.
Add two sachets of Milo powder. Stir.
After it's been mixed, add a glass of milk ( 3 tablespoons of milk powder in a glass of water). Or you can use condensed milk, just add water, too.
Stir them until it's mixed. Once you see that there are no bubbles in it, it's an indication of turning off the fire. Stir them for three minutes to loosen the heat.
Then, add two scrambled eggs to the mixture. The reason for stirring the mixture for three minutes is order these eggs would not be cooked in the heat.
Keep stirring until you get the consistency.
Then, add two cups of flour (previously screened). And an unending stirring power.😂
Once mixed, turn on the fire in a very low heat for a gradual cooking. Keep on stirring though.
Add the peanut. Here I used 'happy original' since there are no available raw peanuts.
Keep on mixing!
Until you get the best consistency. This is ready to be transferred. Just prepared plastic tabs.
Flatten them and let them set for a while. It would be better to have peanut toppings yet I forgot to set aside. Maybe next time.
And here it is! My son enjoyed his snack and he rated it 10/10, hahaha. He's fond of eating something chocolate food. But when I asked my daughter, she didn't really like it. She likes more on sour and salty ones but my son likes sweet and bland food.
During my daughter's birthday party, I made some more, and this time, I leveled it up. My daughter helps me in putting the toppings. Such a good girl.
