Crunchy and cheesy? Ah! There's nothing more perfect than a cheesy potato ball. From the crunchiness outside and its softness inside with the melting taste of cheese. What a superb snack to have!
My mom bought some potatoes a few days ago because we will cook adobo. But she bought a lot, so we still had leftover potatoes.
Since my stomach seems hungry, I've been thinking of cooking those potatoes for a tasty snack. French fries are the first idea that came to my mind, but it's too plain. So, I decided to make something different out of it.
Hop in and join me in cooking this snack!
Ingredients:
- Potatoes
- cheese
- bread crumbs/ biscuit
- egg
- milk
- salt (to taste)
Step 1:
Wash the potatoes thoroughly. Then peel and cut the potatoes into smaller chunks, and boil them until they soften.
Step 2:
Smash the potatoes using a potato masher or a fork. Add about two tablespoons of all-purpose flour, then mix it well.
Step 3:
After that, bring out your block of cheese and cut it into cubes. Sizes depend on what you want. I'm using processed-filled cheese.
Step 4:
Get a half spoonful of the potato mixture, then form it into a ball. Press it down within your palms and place the cheese at the center. Next, form it again into a ball. Make sure the cheese is inside and at the center. Then, put the cheesy potato balls in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Step 5:
While waiting, the next thing to do is the batter and breading. For the batter, in a bowl crack an egg, and add some milk and salt to taste. Then mix it well. You can add some flour to the batter to make it more thicker. For the breading, you can use bread crumbs. But bread crumbs aren't available in our kitchen, so I used biscuits. Just crack the biscuits until perfectly crushed.
Step 6:
Get the frozen potato cheese balls from the freezer. Then dip it into the batter and roll it within the breading, until fully covered. Repeat this process until all potato balls are well coated. Afterward, the potato balls are ready to be fried.
Step 7:
Heat the pan, then put some oil. Once the oil is hot, fry the potato cheese balls until golden brown or the outer layer becomes crispy.
After those procedures, the potato cheese balls are now ready to be served. Just make sure to cool it down first before having a bite.
It takes time to prepare this snack but it was worth it! The crunchiness and cheesiness are all worth it. Yay! My stomach is already full once again.
How about you? What snack do you usually cook to satisfy your hungry tummy? I would appreciate it if you would share it below with us.

Omg potatoes cheese balls looks super 💕💕💕
I've eaten potato cheese balls that my Indian friends made with samosas, but I never thought of making them by myself. This is inspirational, ad I just might try to do so.
Happy Holidays:)
Give it a try 😄, it's fun to make it
