Transforming the ordinary into an extra-ordinary dish.

Hello Hive!

The sun is up and the weekend is turning out to be a quiet and rejuvenating one for me. I woke up early but I did not feel sleepy nor felt tired even after spending some time online, chatting on Discord with some friends, and reading and engaging on some blog posts that caught my attention. I did, however, get hungry after a while. And, not wanting to take too much time in preparing for my brunch, I looked at the pantry and saw a couple of ingredients that I thought would make an awesome improvisation for the instant noodles we usually prepare whenever we are in a hurry or just want some explosive taste on hand.

I have not had my coffee for the day and it is almost 10 o'clock a.m. already so I wanted to make some also, which I am craving for too. So, for this blog post, I want to share how I made my brunch.

Steps

1. Boil water and put in the noodles.

So, I discarded the flavor pack and kept the soy sauce and oil, cooked the noodles for around one and a half minutes.

2. I drained the water, put back the noodles in the pot, and put in water I boiled already so that it won't be difficult to get the water temperature back up.

3. I then added around four tablespoons of tomato paste, salt and pepper, chili powder, half a teaspoon of brown sugar, and mushroom powder to taste.

I just let it cook for around 10 minutes to let the tomato paste and veggies cook thoroughly.

4. Cut and clean the veggies thoroughly.

Fortunately for me, I got the veggies from the chop suey mix so it was already pre-cut.

5. Check if the vegetables are already cooked and adjust to your preferred taste, then pour into a bowl. I did not add chili powder as I usually do because, well, it was sweet day.

I already put the oil and soy sauce from the instant noodle pack for that added flavor, but it still looked incomplete.

6. Of course, I had to fry an egg and topped the dish with it.

Sadly, the yolk broke when I cracked the egg, but all is good. It turned out fine.

7. Lastly, I scooped a bowl of steaming hot rice, brewed some of my favorite ground coffee, and assembled everything all in less than 20 minutes.

I did another post about how I brewed the coffee I had for breakfast and did another post about it, if you are interested: (here ---> Coffee is Life | My coffee blog post.)
