As we know, preparing food every day is time-consuming for working people especially during this Covid period, I am sharing a very common but quick recipe with a few tricks. Today, we are going to prepare Vegetable pulao. So, let's start off with our 1 pot lunch recipe!
Ingredients:-
1cup -basmati rice
1/4cup-capsicum chopped
1/4cup-carrot chopped
1/4cup-french beans chopped
1/4cup-corn
1/4cup-peas
1/4cup-onion chopped
15ml-oil or butter
1tsp-cumin seeds
1-clove
1-cardamom
1-star anise
1 inch-cinnamon
5-black pepper
1tsp-salt
1/2tsp-sugar
2 1/2cups-water
1tsp-salt
1/2tsp-sugar
2 1/2cups-water
pomegranate[optional]
Method:-
1.Heat oil/butter in a pan.
2.Add cumin seeds, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, black pepper, onions and saute till the onion becomes light brown.
3.Add all vegetables [capsicum,carrot,french beans,corn,peas].
Saute in highflame for 1/2min.
4.Add washed rice and saute for 1min.
5.Add water, salt, sugar and cover the lid till rice is done.
6.Mix pomegranate while serving[optional]
Note:
If you like garlic, add some with the spices in step2.
I have made pulao instead of fried rice because it consumes very little oil and is a healthier option. But it takes a little more time which is for cooking the rice.
