Hello dear friends of the community, I hope you are well today I will be sharing some delicious wheat empanadas stuffed with mashed potatoes that are very good, I usually eat them for breakfast or dinner this time I am preparing them for dinner, the empanadas are very popular here in Venezuela especially those that are corn and can be fried or baked with various fillings or casseroles, The name Empanada comes from the Spanish Empanar and its possible origin comes from the custom of stuffing breads with viands or vegetables, that shepherds and travelers took to eat them in the field and empanadas that are consumed in Latin America is probably a cultural legacy of the Spanish conquistadors. Well here I leave you the materials and procedure:
Ingredientes/ Ingredients
Pure de papas :
- 2 papas grandes
- 1/2 cuchara de mostaza
- Queso de rallar
- 1/2 cuchara de leche
- sal al gusto ( yo no utilice porque mi queso esta salado)
Masa:
- 2 tazas de harina de trigo
- 1 cucharita de leche
- 1 huevo
- 1 cucharita de sal
- 1 cucharita de bicarbonato
- 1 leche en polvo
- 25gr de mantequilla
- 1 taza de agua (o lo que requiera)
Mashed potatoes :
- 2 large potatoes
- 1/2 tablespoon of mustard
- Grated cheese
- 1/2 tablespoon milk
- salt to taste ( I didn't use because my cheese is salty )
Dough:
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 powdered milk
- 25gr butter
- 1 cup water (or as required)
Preparación/ Preparation
1.- Colocamos a cocinar las papas y dejamos que hierva y rallamos el queso
2.- Cuando la papa este blanda lo colocamos en una taza grande y aplastamos y agregamos la mantequilla y lo vamos incorporando.

2.- When the potato is soft we place it in a big bowl and we crush it and add the butter and we incorporate it.
3.- Agregamos la mostaza
4.- Luego la leche y seguimos revolviendo hasta tener un pure de papa suave

5.- Comenzamos con la masa y agregamos las 2 tazas de harina abrimos un hoyo

7.- Luego colocamos la sal y la mantequilla
8.- Después agregamos el bicarbonato y el agua que este modo ambiente poco a poco

9.- Despues comenzamos amasar poco a poco
10.- Hasta tener una masa suave y la pasamos al meson con un poco de harina

11.- Cuando tengamos una masa suave y elástica la dejamos reposar en un bowl tapado por 1 hora
12.- Pasada la hora con un rodillo estiramos y con una taza marcamos los círculos
11.- When we have a soft and elastic dough, let it rest in a covered bowl for 1 hour.
12.- After the hour with a rolling pin we stretch it and with a cup we mark the circles.
13.-Despues de tener los círculos , colocamos el pure de papa
14.- Hacemos la empanada y con un tenedor le hacemos la forma y colocamos a calentar el aceite

14.- We make the empanada and with a fork we make the shape and heat the oil.
15.-Colocamos la empanada a freír
16.- Y dejamos dorar por los dos lados y así queda esta ricas empanadas

16.- And let it brown on both sides and this is how this delicious empanada turns out.
