During hot & sunny weather or even I feel sick and nauseous, I want to drink my favorite lemon juice because this quenches my thirst and washes away my tiredness. In this post, I will share how I prepare my favorite lemon juice in easy steps.
I am lucky to receive a bag full of lemons from my grandmother, these are freshly picked from her lemon tree. In the Philippines, we call this "calamansi" local variant for lemons that we usually have in yellow color. We can easily grow these calamansi trees in our backyards.
So here are the steps in preparing the lemon juice:
- Prepare a bowl, knife and a chopping board. Cut the lemons into half in the chopping board.
Next squeeze the lemons one by one in the bowl that you prepared.
After squeezing all lemons, get a strainer and strain the liquid that you have squeezed from the lemons in a pitcher. This will assure that the seeds will not be included in the juice later on.
In the pitcher, add a considerable amount of water and also add brown sugar. You can adjust both ingredients according to your preferences.
Mix the contents and add ice. I suggest to mix first the liquid so that the brown sugar will surely dissolve before adding the ice or ice cubes.
Wait for awhile and you are ready to go! You can now enjoy your glass of cold and thirst quenching lemon juice!
This is my favorite juice because aside from the fact that it is natural and made with fresh ingredients, lemon juice also has many benefits like relieving sore throats, aids in digestion, help to have clear skin and it also has Vitamin C that we really need during this time of pandemic to strengthen our immune system.
