We all know that the Philippines was surrounded by water, and we can't deny the fact that this country was rich in marine natural resources and one of it was shrimps. Filipinos have their own unique ways of making shrimp dishes. These includes the simplest way the "halabos na hipon (cooking it with salt and a little bit of water)", sinigang na hipon, and a lot more.
Now We gonna make my own way on how to cook garlic buttered Shrimps with lime soda.
The creaminess of the butter and the sweetness of the lime soda will give flavor to our dish and don't forget the aromatic flavor that the garlic will give to this recipe.
This recipe was very famous worldwide and most of the recipe I saw online was the peeled and headless version, but for me I believe letting it shells on it will help our marinate sauce to be intact and to sustain the flavor as we go on on the process.
- - Before cooking wash your shrimps, cut those beard and marinate it with lime soda for 30mins or more.
Heat cooking oil in a pan.
Add garlic and onion. SautΓ© until fragrant.
- Also I add chilis to have some spicy kick to our dish.
- Add shrimps, salt, and pepper.
- Add the butter and let it melt.
- Stir and cook until the shrimps turn orange in color.
- Add again the lemon soda (Sprite). Cover and simmer for at least 3 minutes, until sauce is reduce on desired amount.
- Remove from heat. Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Serve with steamed rice and enjoy your buttered garlic shrimp with Lime soda!
