Hello Friends, I want to introduce you to really nice delish cookies today :) they are my favorite since the age of 15 and I hope you will like them too.
It is a classic Turkish flour cookie but the trick is in one ingredient that is only found in Greece islands and some parts of Turkey, which is mastic
Where it grows in Turkey is a beautiful holiday place and there you can find mastic flavored ice cream, cakes puddings, gourmet souces, and liqueurs. hereyou can find more information on mastic use.

MASTİC COOKIE RECIPE
It is an easy recipe and it will take 15 minutes to mix and 15 minutes to bake in the oven. You'll save time and the result is delish.
- 300 Grams of Butter/ 10.5 Oz Butter
- 100 ml sugar / 3.38 Oz Sugar
- 50 ml sunflower seed oil/ 1.69 Oz Oil
- 3-4 small pieces of mastic gum
- 1 packagevanilla extract
- 1 package baking powder
- 3-4 cup of flour
- 5 spoons of starch
First, you need to beat the mastic gum with a jar to make it powder. Then add mastic powder and everything in a bowl except flour and starch. Then mix them. Before you add flour and starch mix everything for at least 5 minutes because if the butter melts well it will taste better!
Use your hands for the best mix.
mix the oil, butter, sugar, mastic gum powder, baking powder and vanilla
Mastic gum pieces, use only 3 or 4 of them.
Then add the starch and flour to the mix. The mixing should be as thick as an earlobe.
After that grab walnut-size pieces and give them little ball shapes with your palms. Place them over a greased baking tray and bake them at 180 degrees in a pre-heated oven.
It should take only 15 minutes to bake. Don't let them overbake or they will lose the powdery structure. 15 minutes in pre-heated oven is enough. :)
Enjoy! :)
Hope you'll like it!
