There are two types of people. Those who hate their birthday, to the point that they hate to be greeted. And then there are those who love to celebrate and take center stage on their day. I consider myself to be of the second group. 🤣
Hay dos tipos de personas. Los que detestan su cumpleaños, al punto de que odian que lo saluden. Y después están los que aman festejar y ser protagonistas en su día. Yo me considero del segundo grupo. 🤣
This time I decided to do something quiet and calm. A family lunch and later, a dinner with friends. In this blog I want to show you the process of a typical pasta from my country, while I tell you a little bit about my day n.n
En esta oportunidad decidí hacer algo tranquilo y calmo. Un almuerzo familiar y posteriormente, una cena entre amigos. En este blog quiero mostrarles el proceso de una pasta típica de mi país, mientras les relato un poco mi día n.n

Writing this blog, I remembered my previous birthday. I can say that the only time I didn't want to celebrate or party, was last year. 2023 was a bad year for me for several reasons. Mainly, because my mom got cancer. The positive good thing is that since my 26th birthday was so bad, it was going to be very easy to get over it on my 27th 😅 And so it was.
Escribiendo este blog, recordé mi cumpleaños anterior. Puedo decir que la única vez que no quise celebrar ni festejar, fue el año pasado. El 2023 para mí fue un año malo por varias cuestiones. Principalmente, porque mi mamá transcurrió un cáncer. Lo positivo bueno es que como mi cumpleaños 26 fue tan malo, iba a ser muy fácil superarlo en mis 27. 😅 Y así fue.

I am a believer that the desire to party is proportional to how your life is at that moment. The good thing is that I can say that, compared to last year, I improved in almost everything. I'm still not where I want to be, but I managed to progress physically, mentally and economically. You could say that there was an evolution compared to 26. And the best thing is that my mom overcame cancer. 😄
Yo soy creyente que las ganas de festejar son proporcionales a como este tu vida en ese momento. Lo bueno es que puedo decir que, a comparación del año pasado, mejoré en casi todo. Sigo sin estar donde quiero, pero logré progresar en el plano físico, mental y económico. Se podría decir que hubo una evolución con respecto a los 26. Y lo mejor es que mi mamá superó en cáncer. 😄

Anyway, my day started with shopping for lunch (always leaving everything to the last minute). Then we started cooking with my mom. She was in charge of making the sorrentinos and I was in charge of preparing the sauce. The good thing is that it took less time than we thought it would.
En fin, mi día comenzó haciendo las compras para el almuerzo (siempre dejando todo para el último momento). Luego comenzamos a cocinar con mi mamá. Ella se encargaba de hacer los sorrentinos y yo de preparar la salsa. Lo bueno es que nos llevó menos tiempo del que creíamos.

Although my celebration is not a big deal, nor a crazy party. I think I'm generating super-valuable memories. I'm going to treasure the anecdote where I cooked with my mom for my birthday, the day I no longer have her.
Aunque mi celebración no es la gran cosa, ni un festejo alocado. Creo que estoy generando recuerdos supervaliosos. Voy a atesorar la anécdota donde cociné con mi mamá para mi cumpleaños, el día que ya no la tenga.

We decided to make 2 different sauces and two different fillings for the sorrentinos. I wanted to try a little bit of everything. 🤣 On one side, we made a bolognese sauce and a cream and broccoli sauce. On the other hand, we made a ricotta and ham filling and a chicken and chard filling.
Decidimos hacer 2 salsas diferentes y dos rellenos distintos para los sorrentinos. Quería probar de todo un poco. 🤣 Por un lado, hicimos una salsa boloñesa y otra de crema y brócoli. Por otro lado, hicimos un relleno de ricota y jamón, y un relleno de pollo y acelga.

It was a nice lunch. The food was very delicious. I must have eaten 3 or 4 courses, to the point of almost bursting. And the best part is that there were leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day.
Fue un almuerzo agradable. La comida fue muy deliciosa. Habré comido 3 o 4 platos, al punto de casi reventar. Y lo mejor es que llegó a sobrar para el almuerzo y la cena del otro día.

In the evening I got together with two friends and we decided to go to a nearby free fork. Obviously, I didn't have time to digest lunch. So I couldn't eat too much on that occasion. But the important thing was to spend it with friends and enjoy the company.
A la noche me junté con dos amigos y decidimos ir a un tenedor libre, que quedaba cerca. Obviamente, no me dio tiempo de digerir el almuerzo. Por lo que no pude comer demasiado en esa ocasión. Pero lo importante era pasarla con amigos y disfrutar la compañía.

I can confirm that I got my 27th birthday on the right foot. I have a lot of optimism and expectations in this year of my life. I aspire to continue improving and faster. I hope to accomplish several of my goals and hopefully life will surprise me with opportunities.
Puedo confirmar que recibí los 27 con el pie derecho. Tengo mucho optimismo y expectativas en este año de mi vida. Aspiro a seguir mejorando y con mayor rapidez. Espero cumplir varias de mis metas y ojalá la vida me sorprenda con oportunidades.

It's good to know that you are improving, but most importantly, your Mom overcoming cancer is one amazing achievement that is so hard to achieve.
