Ingredients
Ingredients may vary according to taste. I tried making it from what I had available in the home. I had these following ingredients:
One Kg Suji Flour (Semolina)
One and half Liter Milk
Fifteen Pieces Cardamom
Sugar
Oil
Ghee
Water
Baking Powder
Instructions on Preparing
i. First of all pour milk in a dish and let it be under medium flame unless it boils. I don't have habit of buying packed one milk. This is straight from a cow farm.
ii. Crush your suji flour in mixture to make it more thinner and softer.
iii. Take 15 pieces cardamom and crushed it in a pestle. I have got a strong one that's not made of iron, steel or chromium. I just don't know what its made of. Also, I don't like crushing it in mixture even though I had it in my home. Just a hand exercise for me lol.
iv. Add ghee to the milk and that crushed suji flour along with half of crushed cardamom and stir it well. It would be better if you used ghee extracted from cow milk. So tasty, healthy and great smell.
v. Stir it until you gets this kind of dough.
vi. Take a pan of your choice and put oil in it. Keep it under the medium flame. Put oil according to the pieces you want to make. I am making about 40 pieces.
vii. Pour one spoon baking powder to the dough made in step 5. Keep beating dough using one of your hand for about 10 minutes to give it a perfect shape as below. This is just a small portion extracted from above dough. Took 10 minutes. Do you think its easy to eat without doing hard work.
viii. Take a ghee in your hand and wash your hand with it because you need to extract a small piece of dough from step 7 and make this uniform circular shape by moving your hand in circular motion so that ghee also gets to all of its surfaces.
viv. Now time to dip this small oily dough into the frying oil. Keep it frying until it turns reddish brown.
x. After it is fried, it is dipped into rose (Gulab that's why named as Gulab Jamun) flavored sugar syrup to give it a taste. Since, I didn't have any such flavor, I prepared a simple sugar water. Just put a water, more sugar and remaining half crushed cardamom powder to it. Let it be under flame until it boils.
xi. Finally, pour the fried Gulab Jamun into this sugar syrup. Keep it covered with a plate for at least about 3 hour so that Jamun can absorb the sweeet syrup completely in all of its surfaces.
Looking at the pretty awesome shape, I think I made it best at my first try, according to me. This was my first time making an Indian sweet in home. I had other items already prepared like Chicken Biryani, Chicken Curry, Pakora and so on since my childhood but had never prepared a sweet.
This food is maybe delicious and easy to cook so want to eat.
Yes it is😁
