Hi guys! Hope you all are keeping well. I am back here but this time with content from a whole different genre! So like I mentioned in my introduction post, me and my husband, Darshak we have a food blog on Instagram. We are often invited by restaurants to review their food and promote the same on social media.
So I thought it would be a great opportunity to share our food experiences with all you lovely people as well!
To begin with, I am starting off with one of the places that tops my lists of favourites, Hotel Machali in Mangalore. Mangalore is a small city located on the south western coast of India. This beautiful land of temples and beaches also happens to be mine and Darshak’s hometown. You will find one of the best seafood restaurants in India out here, Machali definitely is one of them. It is also one of the most famous around in town. One of the ‘must visit’ places when in Mangalore!
The hotel is a very simple one giving you the perfectly homely comfort. There is not much intricate décor or interiors which have been done. Ample of seating space has been provided, inside as well as outside. The general vibe of the place is very local, so cannot expect the typical grand ambience of a restaurant.
They have a wide variety of dishes to offer in Seafood. Seafood options range from different types of fishes, prawns, crab and squid. They have only chicken in option of meat.
So in starters you have a wide variety of options available. I will just list done some of the definite must try dishes here! You have to try their Anjal (King Fish) Tawa Fry. Massive sized king fish fried with the tastiest masala ever.
Their Prawns fry is my personal favourite too!
You also have to try any of their non veg ghee roast dishes. Ghee roast masala is authentic to Mangalore. One of the most delicious masalas you would have ever had! I am personally a fan of everything that has been mixed with the ghee roast masala. Just see how just the pictures of it can set you drooling!
Their Crab ghee roast stands out! As you get to eat the crab meat effortlessly! Isnt that what all of us always wanted?
Also, the basic lunch thalis at Machali are the most ordered dish. Precisely because they comprise of a whole meal at very economic prices. This suits the best for daily wage workers and students. They can quickly grab a meal and get back to work conveniently.
So when in Mangalore the next time, make sure to visit this place!
