ONE HAPPY CHICA...

I stumbled across the beautiful garden entrance of El Pimpi when leaving the Picasso Museum.

I read that this restaurant was opened over 40 years ago in 1971 and has remained in the family's hands ever since. It very quickly became the 'go-to' meeting place for all Malagueños. Now it is a place that all tourists want to visit when arriving.

They have two entrances, one opening up into the main square and the other is a small door with a beautiful garden terrace. I queued for 30 minutes before being seated in the main restaurant. You can see the traditional character and ambience from outside all the way through to the toilets :>

I left the order with my husband and said I was happy to try some new cuisines...

Lobster and Caldoso - Paella served in a soup
Traditional Malaga salad - fresh potato, salt cod, olives and orange slices.
Sea bass - 2 different cuts served with roasted vegetables
Padron Peppers- sprinkled with sea salt
Avocado and beef tomato salad

I have actually never tried lobster before, I can say I am happy to have tried it but I don't think it's for me... I struggled to use the tools to open the shell and then couldn't get past the lobster was whole. (I'm an EX Lacto-vegetarian, so sometimes wrestle with this when eating new foods. I also made a huge mess and covered myself and the table in soup.

Either way, the evening was romantic & full of exquisite flavours.
