Hello foodie lovers, welcome to my blog.Hope you all doing well. I'm excited as excitement can be, hehehe 😅. And I'm here to share it with you.
Some years ago, I had visited a sailor friend who came for his off duty. You know they work some weeks onshore and some weeks offshore too. When it was time for me to leave, he told me to go pick anything I wanted from the grocery cupboard. Opening the drawer, I was stupefied. The cupboard was stocked with varieties of canned foods, biscuits, juices, milk, jam butter, pasta,, just name it. At first I didn't know exactly which to pick because, I just wanted everything, hehehe. But I later picked some packs of juice, biscuits, macaroni and spaghetti including margarine and a pack of prawn crackers.
I started enjoying my loot, lol, until it got to the turn of the prawn crackers. I opened it, picked one, straight to my mouth and "ouch" was the shout that came out of my mouth. The cracker was so hard to chew. I picked up the pack to read direction for use but couldn't understand because it was written in foreign language. I had to sought the help of Google translate and found out that it' has to be fried before eating, oh village girl 😂.
So I did and it came out so yummy. I loved the taste and how crunchy they were. After finishing the pack, I tried buying more but couldn't find it in the stores where I resided then. I just forget about it until after last year when I visited Market Square, one of the shopping malls in my city. While moving around to pick the things I needed, I saw a pack of potato chips and the memory of my tasty prawn crackers came rushing back. I looked for it but didn't find any. I asked one of the sales staff there but she didn't have any idea what it was. The next time I went there same thing so I just stopped checking.
Yesterday, I went to Market Square again and still decided to look for the prawn cracker. You can't imagine how excited I was when I saw similar packs of it sitting pretty on the counter. I almost shouted for joy but had to hold myself to avoid embarrassment, hehehe.
I grabbed one pack, checked the information, luckily it was written in English, and the price was good too. So I picked two packs, paid and happily went home.
This morning, I decided to use it for breakfast and this is how it turned out after frying.
First, I opened the pack and poured some into a plate. See how they look.
Next came heating up the vegetable oil.
The oil shouldn't be too hot else the crackers will get burnt. You can even turn off the heat once the oil is hot enough or fry on low heat.
It's time to get the crackers into the oil and boom - magic magic, hehehe. They begin to expand upon touching the oil and within few seconds, the crackers are ready to eat.
My hot cocoa beverage was ready to pair with the crackers, hmm, so yummy.
If you love eating prawn, then I bet you'll like this crackers. You can actually snack on it while binge watching your favorite movies or reading a novel, or even tea or coffee time with friends. How about taking it with your favorite juice, soft drink etc
I leave you to enjoy this short video clip, hehehe.

Hahahahaha, that's really hard, good thing you didn't bite it that so hard or else you'll get a cracked tooth, lol. But seriously, prawn crackers are the best! We also that, on different brand, in the Philippines. I love to dip it in a vinegar, with chili. Have you tried it?
How would I have known that it was that hard, hehehe. It was my first time seeing it.
Surely, they are. This brand I bough is from China. I'll look out for other brands.
Dipping in vinegar, looks like it's gonna be tasty. Haven't tried it though.
