YES!
I had pizza during my cheat meal day and it was so worth it. On top of that, I didn't eat anything else but just this mac and cheese with a personal sized pizza.
I only do that once in a week and sometimes it depends on what I crave. I try to keep it lower than my calorie intake. One thing I learn from this fitness journey is that I just have to be consistent with my workout. The scale doesn't change much but I can see myself getting fitter and some clothes that didn't fit before became fitter.
I wish I knew this hack early on. That way, I didn't have to torture myself by not eating things that is delicious. The pizza was definitely tasty but it's unlike what I normally taste at bigger joint pizza hut. There was just something missing and it wasn't something as special as pizza hut.
The mac and cheese was also something you can expect from a cheap joint. Though pizza hut isn't cheap at all where I live. So, that was surprising when the taste is quite mediocre. Maybe after all the taste of pizza changes from one join to another.
I think it's safe to say that I am predicting myself to lose only 5kg/month with a day cheat meal. It's not much compared to when I restrict myself without the workout. Not to mention, one thing I notice is that my appetite suddenly isn't as big as before. I feel enough eating little than what I supposed to eat.
I guess when you try to lose weight, do it reasonably and yes, workout is quite necessary. It really helps build a confidence in me too.
