One of my most disappointing visit was to this place called “ Blanco coffee & books”. In the place, this place was bustling with customer and was one of most recommended cafe to check out in yogyakarta before other better cafe’s exist. The place is located strategically nearby Yogyakarta’s most iconic landmark. It is surrounded by vintage architecture and a lot of nearby houses are turned into heritage styled cafe. This one, offering west meet east aesthetic and menu, was one of the kind in the area. Unfortunately, from my recent visit while it retains the aesthetic, I didn’t get the same feeling as I was. I also didn’t end up staying too long inside the place and though their menu and interior has changed for the better, I prefer the way it was.
If you’re coffee lovers and going to cafe for the coffee, there are other places but their cranberry bread was something to die for. It was soft, fluffy but retains its crisp crumble outer part. I haven’t had a good bread in a while and that fixed it. Their pricing is also standard of typical Yogyakarta’s cafe but unfortunately, there are cheaper places with better coffee than that. While I still recommend the place for the bread and the aesthetic, I wouldn’t recommend if you’re truly a coffee lover.

I used to love coffee before especially plain black coffee
@bigeyes2012 I am still drinking that black coffee and esp when it's iced. You can never go wrong with iced coffee.
Oh yeah Ice coffee is the best

Good morning dear friend @macchiata
What a pity that the place was no longer like before and you did not achieve total satisfaction in the establishment, a shame that the coffee was disappointing, at least you ate delicious bread, so it was not all that bad
I appreciate you sharing this experience.
Have a great weekend
@jlufer haha yeah at least the bread was good. Their chair is also pretty uncomfortable and definitely not a spot if you're introverted. Thanks for checking out!
Aww, I hope that next time you visit the store, you'll be able to stay long and enjoy the cranberry bread.
I just remember also the cafe near our house that I used to visit every midnight. I used to go there because I enjoyed the aroma of coffee beans and of course, not crowded since its late at night. But when they started to sell milktea, many young people hang out there even in the middle of the night.
@usagidee Maybe it was that way with this place. They were such an indie place and only a few know this spot. But these days it has become a popular spot and somehow, I think they loses the quality they once had.
Well that's business. Even here in the Philippines, once they get popular of the location became a tourist spot, they will start to lessen their food quality, sometimes, they get expensive. 😪
I actually missed taking coffee. Really been a long time
should get a coffee!

Greetings!
Sometimes we just love the place. No doubt, we love the thing which we buy from that place but "place" itself owns a special stage in our heart. We link memories with place. Sometimes we are resistant to change.
This happens with me a lot.
@tahastories1 Yeah! maybe it's more about the nostalgia I have with the place. There's always that kind of place that holds a special place despite perhaps their service aren't the same anymore. Thanks for checking out.
Hello dear friend, what a shame when this happens, and you were disappointed in the coffee because everything has changed is a pity, the positive thing was the soft bread that was like a comfort. I hope you continue well, a big hug sweetheart.🤗❤️
@lauracraft Comfort! yes the bread was comforting and at least, that's why I am writing about it despite everything else. Thanks for checking this one out!
