Kokiku Chinese Restaurant - Clean, Cozy, and Unexpectedly Delicious !

Sometimes, you need to spice your life a little...

It has been a while since I checked out a new restaurant. Typically, I only visit cafes and eat there, sometimes reviewing their meals too. This time, I was checking out a Chinese food restaurant that’s recently opened in town. I’ve been eyeing this place, but because I tend not to be too adventurous with food, it never bothered me. That day, since I was accompanied by a friend of mine, why not try it and it was a great occasion since we can share a meal while talking about the past and what nots.

I typically don’t eat too often at restaurants as I used to. If you’ve been following me and my journey, I often really say I eat boiled eggs and scrambled eggs with variations of grilled chicken. It’s pretty boring food, but it gets me full for the rest of my day and helps me shed a lot of pounds. Since it was also still a holiday spirit, I was using the chance to spice my life up a little.

A family-friendly Chinese restaurant

The place I visited with my friend is called Kokiku, and its tagline is Moslem Chinese Food since most people in that area are Muslim. Lots of Chinese cuisine typically adds some type of wine and liquor. Hence, the tagline ensures the customer that this is the Chinese Muslim version of the food. Their seating is quite interesting and pretty open as well. It’s optimized for small gatherings and is family-friendly. It’s spotless and neat for a Chinese restaurant, so I first doubted the taste because they don’t have an open kitchen. To me, the most delicious Chinese food would be cooked in an open kitchen where we can see the cook make our food and use high heat. But I was willing to try, and I told my friend that if this was good, I’d bring my parents to eat here since they love Chinese food.

My verdict!

At the place, we ordered fried rice and fried squid. All types of fried rice are offered in the place, from the regular to the one I ordered, which was called Pattaya Fried Rice. It’s basically using an omelet as the wrap for the rice.

The portion is too generous that it was for 2 people rather than one. Most of the meal in this place is a table to share rather than just a single person, so it was a good call that I also ordered another plate to share. Not only the portion that was generous, it was clean. It's like they didn't put too much MSG and isn't so oily. It's definitely ticking all the good lists for me.

My friend ordered seafood fried rice, which apparently comes with generous seafood. One thing about the place that really surprised me was the squid, which was so well done. It wasn’t too chewy and hard but just soft enough and well-seasoned. I ordered one shrimp to go for my parents, and they apparently love it, too.

It seems like this was a great find, especially for my family, who enjoys eating Chinese food. As much as I doubt their taste, given how clean the place was, it wasn’t that bad. The bonus point is that they are spotless and take cleanliness rather seriously. I'd definitely go back here as it rated quite high in my opinion.

Sort:

that rice wrapped in omlette is too tempting. i can not resist it. It is always good to visit these places for a change of taste

That one was delicious and beyond my expectations. It's really been a while since I dine out properly and that was a good experience. I hope you get to eat something good today!

It's cloudy and foggy so a spicy chicken makes things hot.

This is a nice change of pace! It’s always fun trying something new with a friend because you get to explore new things together. This place looks cool, and I am sure the meals are worth it. Glad you had a good time with your friend.

Looks so good food.

It was delicious too ☺️

It sounds cute, but I haven’t eaten it

Some fried rice in some food shop is really oily no. Too much oil in fried rice is not for me, I prefer it if they only use a small amount. This chinese restaurant seems like a good resto. The ambiance inside is also pretty. A good resto for a family gathering, dates or if you just want to hangout while enjoying foods.

Right? sometimes it's too oily and msg packed, thankfully this one is just right. It's why I was pleasantly surprised of everything and they tasted pretty great as well. I'd definitely comeback hehe

You could say that the adventure was worth it, because you managed to find a delicious menu and a nice place to enjoy 😋 The detail of being a very clean place gives more credibility to that restaurant that like you will make many people come back sooner than expected ☺️

Boiled or scrambled eggs? 🤔 You're buying! 😏🤭

Wrapped rice in omelette looks very delicious and makes for a great appearance. It's always good leaving a restaurant with a praise for them. Quality and quantity are two important things. Glad you liked and hope the next time is just as good 😃

Right? I hope next time it's definitely just as good as that one 😃 and finally I found a place in town that actually does fried rice to my liking. I hope you'll have awesome week and New Year!

Wow, the food here looks so very delicious. 🤗

they definitely do and was yummy too 😃

Love the way they served rice!!!🤩🤩

It was the best part of it 😁

its a big portion! Pattaya fried rice is a comfort food menu if found a new restaurant.😍

Definitely, I don't think I've had Pattaya rice often but it's one of those comfort menu and they could never go wrong.
